News: Bedard allowed four runs on six hits, walking one and striking out three over 3.2 innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Friday night. Impact: He just isn't the pitcher he once was. Injuries have sapped his velocity, and more importantly made it more difficult to consistently command the strike zone with his trademark breaking pitches. He'll likely see more starts with the injury-plagued Rays rotation, and he may throw an occasional gem, but he's a risky play for fantasy owners.(RotoWire, )

News: Bedard has been confirmed as the starter for Friday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Impact: Bedard was originally on track to kick off the four-game series with New York with a start Thursday, but Tuesday's postponement allowed the Rays to shake up the order of their starters a bit. David Price will instead get the nod for Game 1, while Bedard follows him the next day for his first start with the Rays. Bedard should have a good chance at sticking in the rotation with Jeremy Hellickson, Alex Cobb and Matt Moore all on the disabled list with long-term injuries.(RotoWire, )

News: Bedard will likely start Thursday's game against the Yankees, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. Impact: Cesar Ramos is starting Sunday, which could lead the Rays to use Bedard in long relief if needed, but the injury to Alex Cobb on Saturday will temporarily push the veteran left-hander into the Rays' injury-ravaged rotation in the short term.(RotoWire, )

News: Bedard was recalled from Triple-A Durham after Saturday's game, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Impact: Cesar Ramos will slot into the rotation, replacing Matt Moore (elbow), at least temporarily, thus creating a need for a long man in the bullpen. Bedard will fill that role, as expected, but if Ramos struggles, he could be an option to start.(RotoWire, )

News: Bedard will likely be called up by the Rays on Sunday to replace Cesar Ramos in the bullpen, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. Impact: With Ramos getting the starting assignment against the Reds on Sunday, the Rays will likely use Bedard in long relief. Depending on Ramos' performance in Sunday's start, the plans for Bedard could be altered if needed. Bedard struck out five and walked one over four innings in his first start at Triple-A Durham on Monday.(RotoWire, )

News: Either Bedard or Cesar Ramos will take Matt Moore's (elbow) place in the rotation Sunday in Cincinnati, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. Impact: With knowledge that Moore has sustained a UCL tear, the Rays must fill a rotation spot, likely for the remainder of the year. As a candidate, Bedard has so far made one start at Triple-A Durham this season, allowing one run on two hits and one walk, while striking out five in four frames.(RotoWire, )

News: Bedard is one of the Rays' leading candidates to replace Matt Moore in the rotation, the Tampa Tribune reports. Impact: Cesar Ramos is the other in-house option to see a couple starts while Moore is on the 15-day DL. Bedard hasn't shown the ability to be a quality major-league starter since 2011, so he isn't someone owners should rush to grab in most formats. The team has yet to announce who Moore's replacement will be.(RotoWire, )
