News: Paulino has been put on the disabled list because of right rotator cuff inflammation. Impact: The move came Saturday, the day after Paulino allowed 13 hits and 10 runs in 3 2-3 innings against Texas in the series opener. Before his four starts this year, Paulino (0-2, 11.29) hadn't pitched in the majors since undergoing ligament replacement surgery in his right elbow in July 2012, after going 3-1 with a 1.67 ERA in seven starts for Kansas City that season.(STATS, 6:24pm)

News: Paulino was placed on the 15-day DL on Saturday due to inflammation in his right rotator cuff, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports. Impact: After getting battered for 10 runs Friday, Paulino has yielded at least six runs in three consecutive starts, leaving him with an 11.29 ERA and 2.56 WHIP on the season. His dismal performances were likely the result of the shoulder concern, which is worrisome for his long-term prospects. Expect the severity of the injury to be clarified in the near future.(RotoWire, )

News: Paulino's start against the Rangers on Friday may have been his last, the Chicago Tribune reports. "We'll see where we're going after this," manager Robin Ventura said. "There are other options, so we'll talk tonight and figure something out." Impact: The Rangers hit Paulino up for 10 runs on 13 hits in under four innings Friday, making it four straight starts in which he posited a subpar performance. Opposing offenses have scored 22 runs against him over his last three nods, and he has an uneven 10 walks to eight strikeouts over that stretch. More importantly to the Sox, he has been unable to eat innings, which has taxed an already underperforming bullpen. Andre Rienzo, Charlie Leesman and Dylan Axelrod, all at Triple-A Charlotte, could be used as replacements in the rotation.(RotoWire, )

News: Paulino was absolutely abysmal again Friday night, allowing 10 runs on 13 hits, walking three and striking out three while lasting just 3.2 innings of an 12-0 rout at the hands of the Rangers. Impact: Manager Robin Ventura was openly critical of his performance so far this year last time out, and then left him in this one to be pummeled. He's now 0-2 and sports a bloated 11.29 ERA. Even with limited options in the White Sox system, his days in the rotation may well be numbered.(RotoWire, )

News: Paulino did not get a decision Saturday but he deserved a loss. Impact: Paulino had a rough start, allowing six runs and six hits in five innings."I've been fighting a lot executing my pitches (the) last couple of games," Paulino said. "But I miss a lot of spots. ... My slider comes sometimes, but I'm looking for consistency."(STATS, 12:26pm)

News: Manager Robin Ventura voiced his displeasure with Paulino's performance thus far after the White Sox's loss to the Indians on Saturday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Impact: Paulino currently leads the American League with 22 hits allowed, and he nearly has as many walks (nine) as strikeouts (11) through three starts. The real sticking point for Ventura is that Paulino has averaged fewer than five innings over his three starts, which has taxed the bullpen. Paulino has a bit more rope on his hold on a rotation spot, especially given the lack of exciting alternatives, but we might see guys like Dylan Axelrod tossed out there come May.(RotoWire, )

News: Paulino struggled against the Indians on Saturday, allowing six runs over five innings on six hits and three walks. Impact: Paulino struck out just three batters and surrendered three home runs, pushing his ERA to an unsightly 7.98 through three starts. The early struggles are particularly worrisome, given that he has an 11:9 K:BB and has already allowed four homers. The lefty's next outing is scheduled for Friday in Arlington, and the Rangers will surely be happy to see him. Another slip up or two and Paulino might find himself out of the rotation, even though the White Sox lack strong alternatives.(RotoWire, )
