News: Doubront gave up three runs over 6.2 innings Sunday night while getting the loss against the Yankees. He allowed seven hits (including a homer by Carlos Beltran) and three walks, striking out just two. Impact: This was the first time in three starts that Doubront got into the seventh inning, but as the K:BB numbers indicate, he wasn't all that strong. He gets his second matchup with the Orioles in his next start Saturday.(RotoWire, )

News: Doubront got chased in rapid fashion Tuesday, giving up five earned runs on six hits and three walks in just 2.2 innings against the Rangers. Impact: It's hard to be too surprised whenever Doubront gets shelled, especially against an offense of the Rangers' caliber. He offers some streaming value in deeper leagues because of his access to wins, because of his team, and his solid strikeout rate for a fifth starter (almost 20 percent in 2013). But he also posted a 1.43 WHIP in 2013, which demonstrates his ability to get into trouble early and often.(RotoWire, )

News: Doubront picked up a win Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out four in 5.1 innings against Baltimore. Impact: Doubront worked more efficiently than we've been accustomed to seeing from him and was hit hard in just one inning. He threw strikes (51 of 76 pitches), but his fastball sat in the 88-91 mph range. It looked like Doubront was laboring when he left, but it's early in the season and pitchers are still building arm strength.(RotoWire, )

News: Doubront, who makes his season debut Thursday, is entering his final pre-arbitration campaign, the Providence Journal reports. Impact: It's not quite a free-agent season for Doubront, but arbitration eligibility offers similar motivation for the upcoming season -- pitch well in 2014 and get paid well in 2015.(RotoWire, )
