News: Liriano struck out seven batters over six innings Friday against the Brewers, but fell to 0-2 on the season after he was outdueled by opposing starter Wily Peralta. Impact: Liriano's biggest issue was the long ball Friday, as two of the four hits he served up were home runs. He otherwise looked the part of an ace and will be considered as such by the Pirates so long as he's healthy.(RotoWire, )

News: Liriano allowed four earned runs in six innings Friday, giving up four hits (including two homers) and two walks while striking out seven. Impact: He started the game with three perfect innings before surrendering a two-run dinger to Aramis Ramirez in the fourth. Liriano's changeup and slider proved to be effective, but a fastball sitting 91-92 mph didn't fool many Milwaukee batters.(RotoWire, )

News: St. Louis touched up Liriano for four earned runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings Saturday. Impact: A three-run, 33-pitch first inning doomed Liriano, who would go on to strike out four batters. The lefty had gotten the better of the Cardinals four straight times prior to Saturday's loss. He threw 105 pitches and wasn't hampered by the groin injury which bothered him late in spring training.(RotoWire, )
