News: Rondon could receive an opportunity to pick up saves for the Cubs following Jose Veras' removal from the closer role prior to Saturday's game. Impact: The team hasn't disclosed a clear-cut replacement, although Pedro Strop will likely be the Cubs' first option when a save opportunity comes up. Rondon has arguably been the team's best reliever this season, with a 0.00 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB ratio in seven innings pitched, and he may be worth a speculative add as a result.(RotoWire, )

News: Rondon picked up his first career save Friday night after giving up no hits with one strikeout and one walk in a scoreless 11th inning versus the Cardinals. Impact: With Jose Veras blowing a save opportunity a couple of innings earlier, Rondon came on in the 11th inning and held onto a three-run lead for the Cubs. Veras (12.27 ERA, 2 blown saves) is still in the closer role, but that could soon change. In the event that it does, Rondon could become very interesting as he has not allowed a run while picking up nine strikeouts across seven innings, so far this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Rondon pitched a scoreless inning Wednesday, striking out two. Impact: Rondon's off to a nice start. In five innings (all scoreless), he has given three hits and two walks and has struck out six. It's doubtful he'll figure into the saves picture in Chicago, but Jose Veras and Pedro Strop are struggling right now.(RotoWire, )
