News: Shuck went 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored in a win over the Mets on Sunday. Impact: Shuck reaped the benefits of hitting in the leadoff spot with a right-handed pitcher on the mound and is now hitting .357/.400/.571 in his first 14 at-bats this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Shuck hit a two-run home run in his season debut Friday. Impact: Shuck came through for his teammates in a big way Friday, as his homer knotted the game at four in the bottom of the sixth. He likely won't replace Josh Hamilton's numbers completely, but he could be a good start for fantasy owners looking to fill the void. Shuck saw 478 plate appearances for the Angels in 2013, where he hit .293 with 60 runs, 39 RBI and eight stolen bases.(RotoWire, )

News: Shuck will make his first start of the season Friday against the Mets, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports. Impact: Shuck, who was recalled after it was learned that Josh Hamilton (thumb) would require surgery that would sideline him for 6-to-8 weeks, likely will battle Collin Cowgill for playing time. The Angels could simply choose to work the two into a platoon, however, with Cowgill starting against left-handed pitchers.(RotoWire, )

News: Shuck was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, MLB.com reports. Impact: Josh Hamilton will miss 6-to-8 weeks following thumb surgery, and Shuck will be up to fill the void in the outfield. The 26-year-old hit .293/.331/.366 in 129 games with the Angels last season and finished fifth in the AL Rookie of the Year vote, but doesn't have much power and Collin Cowgill seems like a better bet for playing time in right field. That said, Shuck may be worthy of some consideration in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues.(RotoWire, )
