News: Kubel continued his recent strong play Monday, knocking in a run in the Twins' loss to the Athletics. Impact: Kubel is making the most of his increased playing time with the injuries to Oswaldo Arcia and Josh Willingham. He has six hits in his last 13 at-bats, including two doubles, with four RBI. Signs are promising for a bounce-back season for Kubel after struggling last year.(RotoWire, )

News: Kubel is in the lineup Monday against the Athletics. He'll start in left field and bat sixth in the order. Impact: Kubel should be in line for increased playing time in the near future, as Oswaldo Arcia (wrist) and Josh Willingham (hand) are currently sidelined with injuries. The Twins also placed Jason Bartlett (ankle) on the DL Monday, and Arcia may be joining him if he's not healthy by Wednesday. He's not the greatest fantasy option, but he should at least see enough at-bats to put up some numbers over the next couple weeks.(RotoWire, )

News: Kubel had three hits and drove in a pair of runs to lead Minnesota to a 7-3 win over the Cleveland Indians on Saturday, giving Twins manager Ron Gardenhire his 1,000th career victory. Impact: Kubel is 5 for 13 (.385) with three RBIs in his first four games.(STATS, 1:40pm)

News: Chris Colabello is starting at first base and hitting cleanup in Thursday's lineup against lefty Jose Quintana, while Kubel is not in the lineup. Impact: Manager Ron Gardenhire has said that DH isn't a platoon between Kubel and Colabello, as he'll mix and match starters, but it's been a strict platoon in the team's first three games (although Kubel played left field Wednesday with Josh Willingham moving to DH; Joe Mauer moved to DH on Thursday).(RotoWire, )

News: Kubel is starting in left field and hitting fourth in the lineup Wednesday against the White Sox. Impact: Chris Colabello started at DH in the first game of the season, so there's still a chance Kubel may end up in a platoon at DH/LF (Josh Willingham moves to DH for Wednesday's game). However, manager Ron Gardenhire has stuck by Kubel despite an underwhelming spring (.196 with one home run) so he should get the bulk of playing time early in the season.(RotoWire, )
