While Benoit is the better pitcher of the two, Leyland has always preferred to use him in a setup role where he could be deployed for longer than one inning. "I'm going to do whatever I think it takes (for) the Tigers win the game, and today I felt like my best option Benoit," said Leyland. "That doesn't mean that Papa Grande (Jose Valverde) isn't going to close games. That does''t mean Benoit is the closer. All it means is that today I felt Benoit was my best option because of the type of hitters they had coming up." | Impact: Benoit picked up his fourth save of the season and second of the month in Sunday's win against the Twins.
