News: Despite Singlegton's hot start and George Springer's promotion to the big leagues, Singleton's promotion isn't imminent. Impact: This is mostly about service time, though Springer also has spent more time at Triple-A. "We're happy that Singleton is off to a good start," GM Jeff Luhnow said. "He does not have the Triple-A track record that Springer has yet. We feel he needs to develop that track record. We're always going to be in a position where our fans want our top prospects to come up here sooner than we think they're ready to come up here."(RotoWire, )

News: Singleton was named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week after hitting .325 with four home runs and 15 RBI, Brian McTaggart of reports. Impact: After struggling to make contact at the plate to kick off his 2014 campaign, Singleton has recorded three straight multi-hit performances and has homered in three of his past four games. Since the Astros aren't getting much production from their first base platoon of Jesus Guzman and Marc Krauss, Singleton could force a promotion to Houston sooner rather than later if he continues to swing a hot bat.(RotoWire, )

News: Through six Triple-A games, Singleton is hitting .217 with two doubles, a home run, seven RBI and a 11:5 K:BB in 23 at-bats. Impact: After a rough spring, during which Singleton hit .154 and lost an opportunity to win the Astros' starting first base job out of camp, he is struggling to make contact at plate to kick off his 2014 campaign. Should his batting eye improve over the course of the season, there's a good chance we could see Singleton in Houston at some point this year.(RotoWire, )
