News: Reyes (hamstring) may be activated from the DL on Friday, Jon Morosi of FOX Sports 1 reports. Impact: As long as Reyes' rehab assignment at High-A Dunedin goes swimmingly, he'll likely return to the Blue Jays for a weekend series in Cleveland. He could slot into the lineup immediately at shortstop, but Jonathan Diaz would spell him due to Maicer Izturis' upcoming 4-to-6 month stay on the pine due to a torn LCL in his left knee.(RotoWire, )

News: Reyes (hamstring) is expected to start running the bases on the team's upcoming road trip, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. While it will likely be one of the final hurdles on Reyes' road back to the big club, the expectation is still that he won't be ready to return when first eligible April 15.(RotoWire, )

News: Reyes relayed that his right hamstring feels better, which will allow him to increase his activity level, but he's unlikely to be activated when first eligible on Apr. 15, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet reports. Impact: Running is expected to be the toughest hurdle in Reyes' recovery from an inflamed right hamstring, but the fact that he'll soon ramp up his workouts is nonetheless a nice first step. In the meantime, the middle infield will be covered by Maicer Izturis (at second base) and Jonathan Diaz (at short) most days.(RotoWire, )

News: Reyes (hamstring) will be placed on the disabled list Tuesday, ESPN.com reports. Impact: Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said earlier Monday that the team would not make a decision until seeing the results of Reyes' MRI, which is scheduled for Monday night. However, ESPN's Jayson Stark reports that Reyes will be placed on the disabled list, and there's little reason to doubt the report. Reyes was bothered by balky hamstring late in spring training, and he aggravated the issued while running down the first-base line in the first inning of Monday's game. The star shortstop was removed immediately, and he admitted after the game that his hamstring had been less than 100 percent during this past weekend's exhibition games at Olympic Stadium in Montreal. Assuming Reyes lands on the disabled list, the Jays will likely call up an infielder, and Maicer Izturis figures to see added playing time. Ryan Goins is expected to stick at second base.(RotoWire, )
