News: Teheran allowed five runs (two earned) on 10 hits and a walk with one strikeout in six innings Friday against the Nationals. Impact: His teammates provided him with a four-run lead early, but he let the Nationals back into the game with single runs in the fourth and sixth innings sandwiched around a three-run fifth. A Dan Uggla throwing error prior to a home run off the bat of Ryan Zimmerman made those three unearned, but Teheran clearly wasn't on his game.(RotoWire, )

News: Teheran allowed two runs in seven solid innings and had two hits to help the Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals 6-2 on Saturday night. Impact: Teheran (1-1) limited Washington to three hits in seven innings, one of them a two-run home run by Adam LaRoche. The Braves right-hander was aided by a spectacular throw by B.J. Upton, who caught a liner to medium center by Bryce Harper and threw Jose Lobaton out at the plate for an inning-ending double play in the fifth. Teheran walked four and hit a batter, but he compensated with six timely strikeouts and two solid singles to right field, the first of which drove in the tying run with two out in the bottom of the fourth inning and contributed to the early exit for Stephen Strasburg (0-1).(STATS, 2:06pm)

News: Teheran held the Nationals to two runs on three hits and four walks Saturday, striking out six in seven innings, en route to his first win of the season. Impact: Teheran followed up his strong Opening Day performance by outdueling Stephen Strasburg, who gave up six runs (three earned) on eight hits and three walks and lasted just 4.1 innings Saturday. It didn't start well for Teheran, as he surrendered a two-run home run to Adam LaRoche in the first inning, but he finished his outing with six straight scoreless frames. While the walks were uncharacteristic, Teheran walked just one batter in his first start and appears deserving of his newly-appointed ace role.(RotoWire, )
