News: Lake is out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds, Bruce Miles of the Daily Herald reports. Impact: Playing time continues to remain inconsistent for Lake, who has been out of the starting lineup in three of the last six games. Manager Rick Renteria has been juggling Lake, Ryan Sweeney, Emilio Bonifacio, Ryan Kalish, Justin Ruggiano, and Nate Schierholtz in the outfield, making it a less-than-ideal situation for all involved.(RotoWire, )

News: Lake is not in the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's double-header against the Yankees, ESPN Chicago's Jesse Rogers reports. Impact: Ryan Sweeney, Emilio Bonifacio and Ryan Kalish will make up the Cubs outfield for the second game, as Lake will sit for half of the double-header. He has all the raw tools in the world, but has yet to be given a steady, everyday job in the team's outfield, which slightly diminishes his fantasy value for the present.(RotoWire, )

News: Lake is not in the lineup Friday against the Cardinals. Impact: Lake will be replaced by Ryan Kalish in left field, in a somewhat odd Cubs lineup that will also feature Ryan Sweeney in center. An injury has not been reported, so chalk up this one to a day of rest.(RotoWire, )

News: Lake drove in his first two runs of the season Wednesday, but struck out once more, giving him nine strikeouts in 22 at-bats. Impact: Lake hit a solo shot off Wandy Rodriguez in the fifth inning, but his 2:9 BB:K is a concern. He's generally been poor in this area throughout his professional career, and it's doubtful that Lake can sustain any success unless he improves his plate discipline dramatically.(RotoWire, )
