| News: Morneau went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Tigers. | Impact: Morneau took Max Scherzer deep in the second inning for his fourth homer in the last five games. We don't want to jump to any conclusions, but it certainly looks like Morneau can be a productive middle-of-the-order hitter right now. Injuries are always a concern here, but at least he doesn't appear to have totally "lost it," which many believed to be the case after 2011's disaster.(RotoWire, ) |

Morneau owns an .811 OPS despite just a .246 BABIP -- if he can get some singles to fall in he could have a big season in his return from concussion symptoms.(RotoWire, ) |

| News: Morneau (wrist) is in Wednesday's lineup at first base against Detroit, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. | Impact: Morneau was activated from the DL and was put right into the lineup. It's a good sign he's playing first base as the Twins must feel he's at full strength. However, we'll have to see if his surgically-repaired wrist can hold up to everyday duty.(RotoWire, ) |

| News: The Minnesota Twins will place designated hitter Justin Morneau on the 15-day disabled list because of a sore right wrist. Morneau has received a variety of treatments to help reduce the pain, but they haven't worked. He is expected to meet with Twins specialist Dr. Tom Varecka when the team returns to Minnesota. The Twins will not add a player to the roster until Monday. | Impact: Morneau complained of pain Monday in the wrist he had surgically repaired last October. He returned to Minneapolis on Tuesday to have a MRI exam, which showed no structural damage. He rejoined the team Wednesday, but has not played since. Morneau's stint on the disabled list will be retroactive to May 1. The 2006 MVP is hitting .230 with four home runs and nine RBIs.(STATS, 10:55am) |
