News: Bumgarner lasted just 4.1 innings against the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing two runs and six hits. He issued three walks and struck out six, needing 99 pitches to record just 13 outs. Impact: Bumgarner has been allowing a lot of baserunners lately, and he's run up high pitch counts in his last two outings (he tossed 112 pitched in just six innings Friday). Despite some inconsistency in the early going, the lefty has been racking up the strikeouts (26 Ks in 20.2 innings) and remains one of the best starting pitchers in the National League.(RotoWire, )

News: Bumgarner hit a grand slam and drove in a career-high five runs to overcome a shaky outing on the mound, sending the San Francisco Giants to a 6-5 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night. Impact: Bumgarner hit a sacrifice fly off starter Jorge De La Rosa in the third inning, then connected for a towering home run in the fourth. It was Bumgarner's third career homer and only the second grand slam by a Giants pitcher since the team relocated from New York to San Francisco in 1958. Shawn Estes did it against Montreal on May 24, 2000. Bumgarner (2-0) gave up four runs in six erratic innings, ending a streak of 21 consecutive starts in which he allowed three earned runs or fewer.(STATS, 2:00pm)

News: Bumgarner earned his second consecutive win Friday night, allowing nine hits, four earned runs and two walks with seven strikeouts over six innings. Impact: Bumgarner helped himself out Friday, driving in five of the Giants' six runs on a grand slam in the fourth inning, in addition to a sacrifice fly in the third. The 24-year-old was more impressive at the plate than on the mound, as it took him 112 pitches to get through his six innings. Bumgarner will face a strong Dodgers lineup his next time out.(RotoWire, )

News: Bumgarner struck out 10 while working into the seventh inning and the San Francisco Giants beat Los Angeles 7-2 on Saturday. Impact: Bumgarner (1-0, 1.74 ERA) was charged with two runs and eight hits in 6 1-3 innings.(STATS, 2:34pm)

News: Bumgarner (1-0) surrendered nine baserunners in 6.1 innings Saturday, but he held the Dodgers to just two runs while striking out 10 on his way to his first win of the season. Impact: Bumgarner was a little bit more hittable than usual Saturday, but he pitched well out of the stretch and limited the damage to just two runs. Through two starts he has the odd combination of a 1.74 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP. Bumgarner is usually a more efficient pitcher (1.03 WHIP last year), so it is safe to assume that number will drop after he gets more starts under his belt.(RotoWire, )
