News: Trumbo hit his ninth homer of the season Tuesday against the Yankees. Impact: Trumbo wasn't playing everyday at the beginning of the season, but now that seems like an eternity ago. He is now an everyday fixture in the Angels' lineup and continues to show off why. After a 2-4 game against the Yankees Tuesday, his triple slash is now .338/.390/.609 and he has nine homers and 23 RBI to accompany that.(RotoWire, )

News: Trumbo went 3 for 5 with a walkoff homer against the Yankees on Sunday. Impact: He was a single shy of the cycle. Trumbo is hitting an impressive .333 and has homered in back-to-back games.(STATS, 1:21pm)

News: Trumbo hit a walk-off homer Monday night to cap a big day at the plate against the Yankees. Overall he went 3-for-5 with a homer, a triple and a double. Impact: Trumbo's slugging percentage is now up to .592. His walk rate has slowed down since we've last mentioned it, but that's in small part because he's been hitting nearly everything in sight. The .333 batting average will recede - with his contact rate it has to - but he has seen his improved approach at the plate pay off.(RotoWire, )

News: Trumbo will see serve as the Angels' regular right fielder until Torii Hunter (personal) returns to the team, the LA Times reports. Impact: Hunter's absence and Vernon Wells' thumb injury leave Mike Trout and Peter Bourjos as the only regular outfielders on the Angels' roster for the time being, so manager Mike Scioscia will take the opportunity to guarantee Trumbo a spot in the lineup each day for the time being. Trumbo will likely return to his super-utility role when Hunter returns, but he should see added time in the outfield in the coming week with Wells out several weeks.(RotoWire, )

News: Trumbo went 1-for-4 with an RBI double and a walk in Friday's win over the Padres. The walk was Trumbo's 10th of the year, and he's taken a more conscious effort to be patient at the plate, the Orange County Register reports. Impact: This is a pretty strong contrast to last season, when Trumbo had just 25 walks all season, amounting in a .291 OBP. If he can maintain this new patient approach, it would be a remarkable transformation in such a short time.(RotoWire, )

News: Trumbo went 4 for 4 on Thursday in a 6-1 loss to the ChiSox. Impact: Trumbo failed to get an RBI or score a run as the rest of the Angels combined for two hits.(STATS, 4:44pm)

News: Trumbo went 4-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the White Sox. Impact: Trumbo batted cleanup for the first time this year, but his season-high four hits were wasted. While it's probably unwise to expect Trumbo to hit for such a high average (.370), he should continue to be a good source of homers and RBI, despite the Angels' current offensive struggles.(RotoWire, )

News: Trumbo had two hits in a 5-0 loss to the A's on Monday night. Impact: Trumbo is 8 for 16 in his last five games.(STATS, 2:44pm)

News: Trumbo will be called upon even more in Torii Hunter's absence, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports. Impact: Trumbo will will show his versatility as he will likely suit up for as much as five different roles with the team in a greater capacity now that Hunter must miss time for personal reasons. He has already been dividing his time at the corner infield and outfield positions. Trumbo already leads the Angels in home runs (six), RBI (16) and is batting .330 in 88 at-bats. Filling in in the outfield may be a blessing for Trumbo, as he has struggled in his transition to third since Albert Pujols became an Angel. Trumbo has made four errors in the eight games he has started at third.(RotoWire, )
