News: Lindstrom was credited with a blown save against the Red Sox on Wednesday despite limiting them to one hit over two scoreless innings. Impact: He entered the game in a bad situation in the ninth after Maikel Cleto walked two batters without recording an out. Lindstrom only allowed a bloop infield single and sac fly, but that was enough to allow one of those inherited runners to score. Manager Robin Ventura emptied the bullpen in the 14-inning loss, and Lindstrom was the only guy not to issue a walk. Ventura gave Lindstrom a vote of confidence earlier in the day, and the lack of other appealing options in the White Sox 'pen means he should hold onto the closer role for a bit longer.(RotoWire, )

News: Lindstrom blew the save against the Indians on Sunday after surrendering two unearned runs in the top of the ninth. Impact: He wound up with the win after Alexei Ramirez hit a two-run home run in the bottom half of the inning, but it must not make us feel any better seeing Lindstrom blow his second save in three tries (to go with a few unimpressive non-save opportunities). Still, the other healthy in-house options for the ninth inning have been similarly unimpressive through the season's first few weeks, so the job remains in Lindstrom's hands.(RotoWire, )

News: Lindstrom tossed a clean ninth inning during Thursday's non-save situation against Cleveland. Impact: Lindstrom has struggled a bit this year, so this was a much needed outing. If he can string together a bunch of quality appearances, he could really put a stranglehold on the job, as there aren't any other experienced closers on the roster.(RotoWire, )

News: Lindstrom allowed a run on three hits in a non-save situation inning against the Royals on Sunday. Impact: Things did not look good in this one for Lindstrom, who entered the game with a five-run lead and needed a double play to get out of it. Lindstrom has been less than stellar in two of his three outings this season, but fortunately for him, no one else in the bullpen is really ready to take on the closer role.(RotoWire, )

News: Lindstrom will open the season as the Chicago White Sox closer. Manager Robin Ventura said before Monday's opener against Minnesota that the veteran right-hander will serve in that role, at least for now. Impact: Lindstrom was 2-4 with a 3.12 ERA in 76 appearances last season, his first with the White Sox. He saved 15 games for Florida in 2009 and 23 for Houston in 2010.(STATS, 3:14pm)
