News: Adams pitched Friday for the first time since June 19 and recorded a 1-2-3 fifth inning. Impact: Adams hit 90 mph with his fastball in the outing, which is right in line with the reported speeds during his rehab assignment. The Phillies were blown out Friday, which is why Adams pitched so early in the game. He'll typically see most of his work in the eighth inning, provided he remains effective.(RotoWire, )

News: Adams (shoulder) was activated off the disabled list Monday night, the Philadelphia Daily News reports. Impact: Adams has not pitched in the majors in nearly 10 months. He has been recovering from shoulder surgery that he had in July of last year. He will be eased back into regular work according to manager Ryne Sandberg.(RotoWire, )

News: Adams (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list Tuesday, MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports. Impact: Adams will likely serve as the top setup man in a shaky bullpen, while Luis Garcia is now headed for the minors. Once a borderline-elite reliever, Adams has looked a bit more ordinary since 2011, but he's still your best bet for saves, should anything happen with Jonathan Papelbon. Antonio Bastardo is also worth keeping an eye on in that department, as the lefty has pitched well in the eighth inning, with the exception of one error-assisted blowup against a hot Milwaukee offense.(RotoWire, )

News: Adams said Monday that he will be activated from the DL on Tuesday, MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports. Impact: Adams has continued to work on his arm strength in the minors, but will have to place a greater focus on location, as his velocity isn't quite yet to where he wants it to be. Upon his return, he'll likely set up Jonathan Papelbon in the Phillies' bullpen, putting him in position to notch the occasional hold when he returns to form.(RotoWire, )

News: Adams (shoulder) allowed one run on two hits in a one-inning rehab outing with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday. Impact: Adams expects to be activated off the disabled list Monday. He should move back into his setup role in front of Jonathan Papelbon.(RotoWire, )

News: Adams (shoulder) said his fastball velocity hasn't returned to its prior level from a few years ago, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "The velocity is not where it used to be," he said. "I want to keep the ball down and locate, and I will be all right." Impact: Adams has been hitting 89-90 mph on the gun during his rehab outings. That's right around where he was last season before getting hurt, and about 1.5 mph down from where he was in 2012 with Texas. Adams' strikeout rate was solid before he was injured last year, so it's possible he'll be able to remain effective without an overpowering fastball. He hopes to be activated from the disabled list Monday.(RotoWire, )

News: Adams (shoulder) could be activated Monday, Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Impact: Nothing's official, but it appears Adams will be back before the end of the team's current homestand, as expected. The right-hander pitched an inning of relief for High-A Clearwater on Wednesday, and it seems he'll only need another rehab appearance or two.(RotoWire, )

News: Adams (shoulder) could join the Phillies before the end of their current 10-game homestand, the Philadelphia Daily News reports. Impact: Manager Ryne Sandberg wouldn't put a timetable on Adams' return, though the reliever has been targeting April 15 as a return date. Adams pitched an inning of relief Wednesday for High-A Clearwater -- the first time he's pitched on back-to-back days in 2014.(RotoWire, )

News: Adams (shoulder) worked a scoreless inning Tuesday in his second rehab appearance with High-A Clearwater. Impact: Adams struck out one and got his other outs on ground balls. He is expected to rejoin the Phillies next week.(RotoWire, )
