News: Aviles is not in the lineup Friday against the Twins. Impact: Aviles played in both games of Wednesday's double header, but will take a seat Friday with Jason Kipnis manning second base and Asdrubal Cabrera at shortstop. Aviles is used frequently as a utility player, but won't be in the lineup against right-hander Mike Pelfrey.(RotoWire, )

News: Aviles will start at second base and bat eighth in the second half of Wednesday's doubleheader, the Indians' official Twitter feed reports. Impact: He is one of the more regularly deployed utility players in all of baseball, and offers value in deeper leagues based on his versatility and ability (he hit .252 with nine home runs and eight steals in 2013).(RotoWire, )

News: Aviles (back) will start in left field and bat seventh Tuesday against the A's. Impact: Nyjer Morgan, who led off in the team's Opening Day game, will park it against left-hander Scott Kazmir as Michael Brantley moves over to center and Aviles mans left field. Aviles, who started just four games in left last season, dealt with some back pain last week but apparently it was a minor issue. He's hitless in six at-bats against Kazmir so far in his career.(RotoWire, )
