News: Braun is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals. Impact: Braun has recorded at least one hit in eight of his last nine games, but he has not homered since last Tuesday and struck out four times in his last two games, so manager Ron Roenicke decided it was time for a day off. Logan Schafer will start in right field in Braun's place, and Jonathan Lucroy will fill the third spot in the batting order.(RotoWire, )

News: Braun had two hits and drove in a run as the hot-hitting Milwaukee Brewers extended their winning streak to six games with a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night. Impact: Braun went 6 for 12 with 10 RBIs in the series against Philadlephia while increasing his lifetime total to 24 RBIs in 21 games at Citizens Bank Park. Braun opened the three-game set by homering three times in Tuesday's 10-4 win. He's 8 for 16 in his last four games.(STATS, 6:56pm)

News: Braun hit three homers for the second time in his career in Tuesday's win over Philadelphia, driving in a career-best seven runs. Impact: Braun entered with three hits in 20 at-bats on the season, with no RBIs and no home runs. Perhaps Tuesday's monster performance can bring him out of his slow start. (STATS, 7:20pm)

News: Braun hit three home runs and drove in seven in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Phillies. Impact: Braun's three-run blast off Kyle Kendrick in the third inning broke a career-long streak of 98 plate appearances without a homer (dating back to last season). He wasn't close to done, however, as Braun went on to smack two more home runs, giving him his second career three-homer game, and he tied a Brewers franchise record with seven RBI. The thumb issue remains a concern, but Tuesday's performance will go a long way in convincing both Braun and the coaching staff that he can play through it.(RotoWire, )

News: Braun is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies. Impact: It was reported last week that Braun is playing through a sore thumb, so he no doubt benefited from Monday's game being pushed to Tuesday. However, he will still have to manage the pain in his thumb moving forward. As he regularly will, Braun will man right field and bat third Tuesday afternoon.(RotoWire, )

News: Braun (thumb) is back in the starting lineup Sunday for the Brewers, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Impact: After a day off Saturday, Braun is back in the fold and playing right field. He was used as the Brewers' DH in the first game of the series with Boston on Friday.(RotoWire, )

News: Braun is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Red Sox. Impact: Braun is again experiencing numbness in his thumb due to nerve issues in his arm, which is preventing him from determining how hard he's gripping the bat. As a result, he's developed blisters and bruising on the thumb. It's a troubling sign, as Braun was limited last season due to similar issues, but as of now, it appears he'll try to play through it. If the pain becomes too much, however, surgery could be an option.(RotoWire, )

News: Braun (thumb) is "optimistic" he'll be able to play Sunday, MLB.com reports. Impact: In an interview prior to Saturday's game, Braun went into detail regarding the trouble he's having gripping the bat and why he didn't have surgery last year during his suspension. He likened his trouble swinging to touching a hot stove and went on to say, "No matter what I want to do or try to do, I can't keep two hands on the bat." He did say that he's "not even thinking" about surgery, but Braun admitted that the thumb was an issue in spring training and called it "counterproductive" for him to play when he can't take a normal swing.(RotoWire, )
Fri. Apr 4, 2014
News: Braun has been booed in his first road game since his 65-game suspension last season. Impact: The Brewers slugger was booed loudly by fans at Fenway Park as he was introduced before the game as part of Milwaukee's starting lineup and again when he went to bat in the first inning. He struck out swinging, one of three Brewers retired that way in the inning by Jake Peavy.(STATS, 3:34pm)

News: Braun is dealing with a sore thumb again, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports. He's limited to DH duty for Friday's game at Boston. Impact: For the second straight season, Braun is dealing with a nerve issue in his arm, which is preventing him determining how much grip strength he is exerting, and has led to blisters on his hand. Braun will play through the pain for now and is in Friday's lineup, but he will either have to find a way to manage the pain, or undergo surgery to fix the nerve issues.(RotoWire, )
Mon. Mar 31, 2014
News: Braun has received a standing ovation in his first at-bat back with the Brewers following his 65-game suspension last season. Impact: The right-handed slugger drew overwhelming applause as he strode to the plate in Milwaukee's opener against the Atlanta Braves. There may have been a trickling of boos, but those were easily drowned out. Braun hit in his customary No. 3 position in the lineup in his first regular-season game since July 21. He was retired on a high fly to left.(STATS, 3:13pm)
