News: Vogelsong is still scheduled to start Monday's game against the Nationals, the San Francisco Chronicle's Henry Schulman reports. Impact: There has been talk of Vogelsong losing his spot in the rotation, but he'll get at least one more crack at it. He currently owns a 8.06 ERA, 1.84 WHIP, and 38:17 K:BB through eight starts (41.1 innings).(RotoWire, )

News: Vogelsong (1-4) only lasted two innings Wednesday, giving up eight runs (three earned) on six hits while striking out two against Toronto. Impact: Vogelsong wasn't sharp Wednesday, but his defense didn't do him any favors. Two costly errors in the outfield are what led to the six-run first inning in which he expended 33 pitches. Regardless, it was an ugly outing for Vogelsong who now has a 8.06 ERA on the year. There were talks of skipping his turn in the rotation last week, so those rumors may come to fruition after Wednesday's poor showing. Owners should avoid starting Vogelsong until he rediscovers his form.(RotoWire, )

News: Vogelsong gave up six runs, seven hits and and three walks in the Giants' 6-3 loss to the Braves on Thursday. Impact: The season continues to be a struggle for Vogelsong, who fell to 1-3 with a 7.78 ERA. Home runs have been a big part of the problem as he's allowing 2.1 per nine innings pitched compared to a career rate of 0.96.(STATS, 5:48pm)

News: Manager Bruce Bochy said Vogelsong would make his next start as scheduled, the San Jose Mercury News reports. Impact: Bochy pondered the idea of skipping Vogelsong's turn in the rotation with the right-hander getting touched up to the tune of a 7.78 ERA and 1.72 WHIP over his first seven starts. Vogelsong will face the Blue Jays in Toronto on Wednesday and may be on a short leash at this point.(RotoWire, )

News: After Thursday's game, manager Bruce Bochy did not discount the idea that Vogelsong could have his next turn in the rotation skipped, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Impact: Bochy said it's something the Giants will "talk about internally," but after another poor performance Thursday (six earned runs over 4.1 innings) and with an off-day looming Monday, it's not hard to imagine the team skipping the right-hander to let him reboot. While Vogelsong did strike out a season-high seven batters Thursday, and he continues to claim fatigue is not an issue, his ERA is up at 7.78 and the club may decide a skipped start is best for player and team.(RotoWire, )

News: Vogelsong lasted just 4.1 innings Thursday, giving up six runs and seven hits. He did manage to strike out a season-high seven batters. Impact: Vogelsong allowed a two-run homer in the second inning, but seemed to settle down before running into trouble in the fifth. Reliever Jose Mijares didn't help Vogelsong's cause, letting both inherited runners to score. He hasn't been nearly as effective as he's been the previous couple of seasons, and it's to the point where fantasy owners might want to use extreme caution.(RotoWire, )
