News: Milone took the loss Friday night, allowing 10 hits and five runs (three earned) with seven strikeouts over five innings against the Mariners. Impact: In his first start of the season, Milone pitched well enough to keep Oakland in the game, but caught a tough draw going up against the Mariners' Felix Hernandez, who tossed seven-plus innings of two-run ball. Milone will continue to hold the place of A.J. Griffin in the rotation, which should leave him with a few more starts to get into a rhythm and build some momentum.(RotoWire, )

News: Milone's scheduled start Sunday versus the Mariners was skipped due to the postponement of Friday's series opener due to wet field conditions, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Impact: With Dan Straily going Saturday and Sonny Gray taking the ball Sunday, Milone likely won't take the mound until Thursday's game at Minnesota. Milone is a placeholder in the rotation for A.J. Griffin (elbow) through May, after a spring in which the former tallied a 4.26 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 8:5 K:BB in 19 frames. In the meantime, Milone will travel to Arizona in order to stay fresh by pitching to minor leaguers, before joining the Athletics in Minnesota on Sunday night.(RotoWire, )
