News: Tulowitzki's third-inning sacrifice fly off Matt Cain knocked in the only run of the game Saturday against the Giants, as the Rockies prevailed 1-0. Impact: Although he was held hitless, Tulo ended up as the hero in an afternoon pitcher's duel that featured just seven hits. More importantly, he looked to be back to his normal self in picking up his sixth RBI of the season, after sitting out one game with a minor quadriceps ailment.(RotoWire, )

News: Tulowitzki (quadriceps) is back in the lineup Saturday afternoon against the Giants and Matt Cain. Impact: Tulowitzki slides back into the cleanup spot after pinch hitting to end the game Friday. He's faced Cain more than anyone else in his career, using 53 career at-bats to hit .340/.397/.698 with four homers.(RotoWire, )

News: Tulowitzki, who was a late scratch from Friday's lineup with a tight quadriceps, struck out to end the game in a pinch-hit appearance. Impact: That manager Walt Weiss was comfortable using Tulowitzki as a pinch hitter suggests that the injury isn't overly serious. Expect him back in the lineup Saturday.(RotoWire, )

News: Tulowitzki (quadriceps) was scratched from Friday's lineup, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports. Impact: Tulowitzki was initially included in the lineup, but is reportedly still dealing with some tightness in his right quad. News: Tulowitzki (quadriceps) is back in the starting lineup Friday against the Giants. Impact: A slight right quad pull kept Tulowitzki out of the lineup Wednesday, but it seems Thursday's off day provided sufficient rest for the 29-year-old. Tulowitzki will be in his usual spots Friday to take on left-hander Madison Bumgarner, against whom he's 6-for-18 (.333 average) with one extra-base hit in his career. The Rockies had a plan in place to rest Tulowitzki here and there in early going, and then sit him less as the season progresses. The quad scare could result in the team taking extra precaution in the coming weeks.(RotoWire, )

News: Tulowitzki (quadriceps) is not in the lineup Wednesday against the White Sox, ESPNDenver.com reports. Impact: Tulowitzki announced Tuesday afternoon that he was dealing with a slight pull of his right quadriceps muscle, but ended up playing in the 15-3 loss to the White Sox, going 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. While it seems likely that his absence from Wednesday's lineup is related to maintenance purposes more than anything, he did seem to be running the bases very cautiously Tuesday. Tulowitzki's troubling history of lower-body issues certainly make the quad ailment one to monitor, even if it doesn't cost him extended action.(RotoWire, )

News: Tulowitzki went 3 for 3 with a homer in Monday's 8-1 win over the White Sox. Impact: Tulowitzki's homer was his first of the season. He's batting .417 in the early going.(STATS, 6:18pm)
Mon. Apr 7, 2014
News: Tulowitzki went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, two runs, and a walk in Monday's 8-1 win over the White Sox. Impact: Unfortunately for fantasy owners, the Rockies removed Tulowitzki before the eighth inning, costing him a plate appearance that would later go to Charlie Culberson with runners on the corners and no outs. No injury was reported, so the Rockies were likely just trying to lighten Tulo's workload in a blowout. The star shortstop is 10-for-24 thus far, with a home run, a triple, and two doubles.(RotoWire, )
Sat. Apr 5, 2014
News: Tulowitzki sat Saturday as a day of rest mandated by the team and will sit less as the season progresses, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports. Impact: Tulowitzki, who didn't take the day off by choice, may take routine days off in April and perhaps May, but by June, he likely won't need time off anymore.(RotoWire, )
Sat. Apr 5, 2014
News: Tulowitzki is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks. Impact: Tulowitzki owns a 5-for-9 career record (one home run) against right-hander Brandon McCarthy, Saturday's starter for Arizona, so his absence is a bit disconcerting, but there has been no word of an injury to this point. Charlie Culberson will man short and bat eighth in his absence.(RotoWire, )

News: Tulowitzki went 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk and two runs in Thursday's loss to Miami. Impact: Tulo's hit in three straight now following his 0-for-4 in the opener. He and the Rockies are headed home for Coors Field now, where the star shortstop slashed .342/.427/.582 last season.(RotoWire, )
