News: Skaggs allowed four earned runs on seven hits in six innings pitched en route to a no-decision Wednesday against the A's. Impact: Skaggs pitched pretty well in sum, but was bitten by a rough fourth inning in which he surrendered all four runs the A's scored in the contest, including a three-run homer to Brandon Moss. Skaggs walked three batters and struck out two Wednesday, and while the low walk total is a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners, they would probably like to see the strikeout numbers rise a bit, as he has punched out just 11 batters in 21 innings this season. It may be, however, that Skaggs is deliberately attempting to pitch to contact more in 2014 in an effort to curb some of the wildness that has plagued him in the past.(RotoWire, )

News: Skaggs pitched seven innings on Friday, allowing nine hits and four earned runs with four strikeouts in no decision. Impact: Skaggs has worked at least seven innings in both of his starts this season while keeping his pitch count fewer than 100. He's also displayed excellent control, walking one batter in 15 innings. Skaggs was actually on the line for the loss in this one, until J.B. Shuck bailed him out in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run, game-tying homer. He ended up exiting a tie game, which leaves his record at 1-0.(RotoWire, )

News: Josh Hamilton hit a two-run home run to support eight strong innings by Tyler Skaggs as the Los Angeles Angels won their second straight 5-1 over the Houston Astros on Saturday night. Impact: Skaggs allowed one run - none earned - on four hits with five strikeouts in his Angels debut. He was acquired in the offseason from Arizona in a trade that sent outfielder Mark Trumbo to the Diamondbacks.(STATS, 2:37pm)

News: Skaggs was dominant in his first start of the season Saturday, allowing just one run (zero earned) on four hits while striking out five in a win against the Astros. Impact: Perhaps the most important things to take away from the outing is that Skaggs walked only one batter and got through eight frames on 95 pitches. He's always been thought of as a pitcher who will tally up strikeouts and walks, but it seems he traded punchouts for control on this night, with encouraging results.(RotoWire, )
