News: Cespedes had a huge night Friday, going 3-for-4 at the plate with his fourth home run of the season, adding three RBI and two runs scored. Impact: Cespedes has experienced a recent power surge, as he now has three homers in his past five games, raising his OPS up to .838 on the season. His downside is a .246 batting average, but he'll certainly make up for it if he continues to provide this type of power.(RotoWire, )

News: Cespedes was 0-for-6 with six men left on base in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Angels. Impact: Cespedes's rough night dropped his average on the season to .213. After a brutal March for the A's in Spring Training, Cespedes has not shown much to think a breakout is coming. He does have three home runs and while there is no doubting his prodigious power, coming off a 2013 where he hit .240, it is a big question whether he will hit for average.(RotoWire, )

News: Cespedes has a bruised heel, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. Impact: Cespedes is in the starting lineup in the left field on Monday and does not appear to be concerned about the heel. News: Cespedes is in the lineup Monday against the Twins, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Impact: Cespedes was seen limping in the clubhouse following Sunday's game, apparently nursing a sore heel. His condition must have improved since then though, as he'll start in left field and bat fifth in the order. Cespedes hit his first home run of the season Sunday, and he'll look to build on this momentum against Kevin Correia and the Twins.(RotoWire, )

News: Cespedes was 1-for-3 Sunday with his first home run of the season. Impact: Cespedes has started the season slowly, hitting only .217 over the first week, but the home run to right-center field is a good sign for him. He has the talent to have a huge season for the A's, but it remains to be seen whether he can make the necessary adjustments at the plate to fully utilize that talent.(RotoWire, )
