Power Rankings: Week 10
Posted June 07, 2011 06:23 AM EDTThe Phillies hold steady at the top of the rankings, while the rest of the top five goes for a bit of a shuffle. The Yanks’ strong play of late pushes them up to second overall, while the Indians tumble to ninth thanks to five straight losses — is Cleveland’s stay atop the AL Central about to end? And perhaps we can chalk it up to the emotional response of Buster Posey’s injury, but the Giants played well in the MVP-caliber backstop’s absence. All that and more in this week’s MLB Power Rankings.

For instance, David Ortiz (.365 avg., 11 home runs since May 1) and Adrian Gonzalez (.357 avg., 11 home runs since May 1) are quickly turning into the modern-day, left-handed version of the “Bash Brothers” — this time without the juice.
