--RHP Jake Westbrook had successful arthroscopic surgery Friday to clean out his right hip joint. The surgery was done by hip specialist Dr. Thomas Byrd in Nashville. Westbrook, who is already on the disabled list as he rehabs from "Tommy John" Surgery, is expected to be on crutches for four weeks following the hip surgery, but beyond that, the rehab from the hip surgery is not expected to impact Westbrook's rehab from "Tommy John" surgery.

--C Victor Martinez started his first game behind the plate Friday since spending 2-1/2 months on the disabled list following elbow surgery. Martinez played the full nine innings and went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

--RHP Anthony Reyes had to leave Friday's game after three innings due to soreness in his right elbow. He will be further evaluated on Saturday.

--The Indians' 9-3 win over Kansas City Friday was their 10th road win in a row, matching the fourth longest road winning streak in franchise history.

--The Indians have been hit by pitches 91 times this season. That has already shattered the previous club record of 80, set last year, and it's one shy of the American League record of 92, set by Toronto in 1996. The major league record for getting hit by pitches is 100, by Houston in 1996.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "That has a nice ring to it. I like the sound of that." -- LHP Cliff Lee, when asked how it felt to be a 20-game winner.

BY THE NUMBERS: 27 -- Number of starts it took LHP Cliff Lee to win 20 games this season. The only Indians pitcher who has won 20 games faster than Lee was Bob Feller in 1951 (25 starts) and in 1946 (26 starts).
