Chicago's World Series hero is back with the White Sox.

Outfielder Scott Podsednik, who was instrumental in the team's four-game sweep of the Houston Astros in 2005, has been called up by the big-league club, according to a major-league source.

While it was not immediately clear which player would be sent down or designated for assignment, outfielder Jerry Owens was seen shaking hands with teammates and leaving the clubhouse with his athletic bag, the Chicago Tribune reported Thursday. Owens, however, is out of options and cannot be sent to the minors without clearing waivers.

Podsednik, 33, led the majors in stolen bases in 2004 with 70. He made his first and only All-Star team in 2005, voted in by the fans as the final All-Star selection.
