Tigers, Dodgers discussing Kuroda

The Tigers and Dodgers have had dialogue about a trade that would send Hiroki Kuroda to Detroit, sources say, but other teams remain involved and a deal is not yet close.
One significant hurdle: Kuroda has a full no-trade clause, and his willingness to play in Detroit is unknown at this point. Kuroda is also expected to ask for some form of compensation — perhaps financial — if he waives the clause.
However, one source said Kuroda is leaving all options open at this point. He hasn't ruled out East Coast teams — or anyplace else — the source indicated.
The Rangers and Indians are among the other teams with interest in Kuroda, according to major-league sources. The Rangers and Tigers each had a scout at Dodger Stadium to see Kuroda’s start Friday against the Nationals.
Sources say the Red Sox are also monitoring Kuroda but aren't engaged in serious talks with the Dodgers — yet.
One source believes Kuroda won’t seriously consider the pros and cons of playing in a particular city unless Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti presents him with a firm proposal. As a result, Colletti will likely work hard to agree on players with an interested club by early next week, so the GM can move on to the next suitor if Kuroda blocks the deal.
Kuroda, 36, signed a one-year, $12 million contract with the Dodgers before the season. He’s 6-11 with a 3.13 ERA in 19 starts this year.
