Mets' Wright out with fractured finger
He will not need to undergo surgery but the finger will be placed in a splint, the team announced.
Doctors said Wright would return to baseball activities as soon as he could tolerate them.
Wright was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Nationals after jamming the finger a night earlier diving back into first base, the New York Post reported.
He took swings in the batting cage and determined he would not be able to play.
"I just don't think I would be worth very much today," Wright said, before X-rays later determined the extent of his injury.
Wright is hitting .583 with a home run and four RBI this season.
