Royals' Gordon leaves with injury in sixth inning
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)
Gordon landed in a heap on the warning track and didn't move while Jason Kipnis rounded the bases for an inside-the-park, three-run homer that gave the Indians a 3-1 lead.
Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrie immediately motioned to the dugout, and trainer Nick Kenney and manager Ned Yost ran out to check on the Gold Glove outfielder. He limped off the field and the team reported that Gordon sustained a possible concussion and a bruised right hip.
Gordon will be evaluated again on Thursday.
