The Twins, seeking to bolster their bullpen, are on the verge of acquiring left-hander Ron Mahay, according to a major-league source.
The Royals cut Mahay this week after designating him for assignment on Monday. He was 1-1 with a 4.79 ERA in 41 games. In his 13-year career, Mahay is 25-11 with a 3.89 ERA. The Twins would be Mahay's eighth major-league club.
