White Sox get Jackson; Dunn next?

White Sox general manager Kenny Williams has the starting pitcher he wanted: right-hander Edwin Jackson, acquired in a three-player trade with Arizona.
And now Williams is trying to get one of the biggest available bats: Adam Dunn of the Washington Nationals.
The first-place White Sox remained in talks with the Nationals about Dunn even after completing the deal for Jackson early Friday afternoon, major-league sources said.
Other teams are also pursuing Dunn, one source indicated.
The Nationals could ask for Jackson in a trade for Dunn — thus creating an indirect three-way deal.
But Williams parted with a member of the current rotation (Daniel Hudson) in order to get Jackson. If Williams were to trade Jackson to the Nationals, he would need to find another starting pitcher. He is not looking for the Nats to package one of their starters along with Dunn, a source says.
Chicago traded Hudson and prospect David Holmberg for Jackson, who threw a no-hitter against Tampa Bay earlier this season.
Jackson, 29, has played for the Dodgers, Rays, Tigers and Diamondbacks in his eight major-league seasons. He is 6-10 with a 5.16 ERA this season. His best performance was June 25 against the Rays, when he threw a 149-pitch no-hitter in a 1-0 Arizona win.
''Edwin Jackson did a terrific job, we appreciate everything he's done for us,'' Diamondbacks interim general manager Jerry Dipoto said. ''He threw a big no-hitter for us against Tampa Bay and was a quality individual who brought a lot to our team, but we felt like this was a great opportunity for us to build toward the future with Daniel Hudson and even further in the future with a prospect like David Holmberg.''
Jackson was an All-Star in 2009 with the Tigers. He is 44-49 with a 4.74 ERA for his entire career.
Hudson entered the season as the third best prospect in the White Sox organization, according to Baseball America. He was 1-1 with a 6.32 ERA in three starts with the White Sox in 2010. Holmberg started the season ranked No. 8.
