Bedard: Legal issue didn't distract me

Erik Bedard says legal papers given him by a process server wearing a Yankees shirt before a poor outing weren't a distraction.

''If you play a sport you have to put all that stuff aside,'' Bedard said after the game. ''If you let outside distractions get to you, you can't focus out there.''
The papers were served by Tom Cabral, a fan of the New York Yankees, according to the New York Post. Cabral said he wasn't trying to rattle Bedard and was told by the pitcher, ''It was no problem.''
''I handed him the copies of all the documents and he signed them,'' the Post reported.
