It wasn't so much losing to New York on Friday, but it was how they lost. The Jays blew this one in the fifth inning when they allowed the Yankees to score two runs despite the fact the lone hit they collected off Brian Tallet was a bunt single. The...

Well ( boomer828 ) I didn't say anything for awhile now. So now about them overpaid non hitting so called Jays baseball players we are suspose to support and pay big dollars to get in to watch??? I don't even know how Wells and Rios have the guts to walk out on the field in Toronto. I said 2 months ago they were a 20 th place team and maybe that was to high. I haven't went to any of their last 15 home games and won't be wasting my money until they get a ball team. I know you don't always win the World series but when you just keep going and don't make any changes then it is obvious the people are paying to watch loosers so I will go after the bank roll for the team by not going to the games.

Hi guys, On Memorial Day, I put a photo in my avatar and said it was my brother. It was a pathetic lie as the photo was really me. I disrespected Veterans and shamed myself and family. Magic.

I agree with you Bloody. Yes I do find it weird to not play any division foes until now. But the schedule is filled with division opponents at the end of the year. And that will make it quite interesting should the Jays still be close for a playoff berth, wild card or divisional title.

Does anyone here agree with me that Halladay and Romero could perhaps become one of the best 1, 2 combo's for a starting rotation? Romero has the potential to be great.

Finally my prediction for this weekend in the Bronx: a four game split

Good win by the Jays today and great news as our saviour Doc is set to return on Monday against the Rays.

BTW, does anybody else think that's its weird that we have to wait until almost July to play a team in our own division?

And Xalvion, i admire your optimisim but i think we're setting ourselves up for much less dissapointment if we aim for the Wild Card. I mean, we're already tied with the Yankees with all of our injuries, it's very possible to keep them out of the playoffs for a 2nd year. I'd love it if it were the Jays were the team that everybody else thanks for that! :D

A 5-game deficit in June is nothing ... Both Boston and the Yankees have their warts ... I wouldn't be so quick to concede the division.

In past years, it wasn't realistic to think the Jays would make a late season push to overcome those teams, but this team is different ... Did anyone believe they could be this offensively strong WITHOUT Wells or Rios making big contributions? ... It was unthinkable ... so the potential is there to be even better than they have been ...

The real concern is obviously the pitching, especially with Roy out ... but the real truth lies somewhere between the Chicken Littles of the world and those who thought (just a month or so ago) that they Jays actually had TOO MANY big league arms ... the real truth is that this team has *enough* arms *with potential* to contend IF (and it's a big 'if', I'll grant you) they can be properly managed, so as to squeeze every last quality performance out of this bunch that is humanly possible ... Now, if only we had a genius manager who is renowned for getting his players to perform for him ... Oh, wait ... we DO!

This race ain't over, boys ... not by a long shot.

Yeah, losing a series to the Nats is unacceptable. If we're gonna compete for the wild card (let's face it, there's no hope of us ever catching Boston with our devestated starting roatation) we're gonna have to start playing consistent baseball like we did in April.

Win every series or we may as well hand NYY their wild card spot. Let's see if we can take 2 from the Reds.

Go Jays!

Very disappointing to lose twice to the Nats. This should have been a series sweep for the Jays. 5 games back isn't the end of the world, yet, but it's time to get it done. Maybe with the next 9 games at home, something good will happen.

At least we're only 1 game back of the Yanks for second place...if that is a comforting thought. l

What did I tell everybody a month six weeks ago? The Jays were hitting WAY above their heads and the pitching wasn't great even back then.
They have to address their pitching concerns first, if they want to dump Wells and Rios to get it fine. Oh, and Overbay, this dude is not clutch. This would put Doc and Rolen to be the leaders and kick it.
They just have to be more intense.
Go get 'em boys.

Couldnt of said any better Jersey...... However I would get Rios in the pocket book out of town before wells. They both are sucking but Rios is little league... Hmmm let me take that back I have seen little leaguers play better.

Isn't it cute how we get all these collective hits and runs in a game but everyone goes quiet together in others. One of these guys needs to step up and take charge. It is unacceptable that we lost a series to the Nats after sweeping the defending champs. Start playing consistent gentlemen.
Us loyal and genuine fans like me, shrub and bloody are getting sick of this crap!

Leyland benched Maglio Ordonez, Manuel benched Howard, Gerardi benched Arod, and Tito dropped Ortiz in the order but Cito is too old and stubborn to do anything like that to Wells I guess. I don't care if he hit a solo HR tonight, you have to look at his body of work, IT SUCKS! He has become a liability in the batting order. He kills rallies period.

Yeah, we should've swept the Nats but this team is so inconsistent and hard to predict. We get swept by the Marlins, sweep the Phillies and have trouble scoring two runs on the Nats and lose.

It's getting so that any series can go any which way at any moment. If we don't win the next two, i don't know we can come back to T.O. with much dignity.

Great series sweep in Philadelphia. The bats came back to life, and the pitching was good. I would say great, but giving up 7 runs in the last game was kind of tough to watch.

All the best to Halladay in his recovery. If the Jays keep up the hitting again, when he comes back, good things are gonna happen. Let's knock the Yanks into third place.

Toronto should win all 3 in Washington this weekend. Go Jays!!

I'm sorry that Roy Halladay has suffered this injury, he was having such a tremendous season. I hope he will be on the mend soon.
Your Jays have been doing a great job, keep up those winning ways. All the best from Tampa Bay ! Go Rays !

Hey diehard-oops seems we swept you.
Richmond is our 450k man...started out great - soft slump and a great performance Wed.
We've definatly had trouble with the NL maybe now we will get some confidence sweeping the defending chumps oops! I meant champs.
