Impact: Chacin was optioned to the Sky Sox on Wednesday after getting off to a rocky start, going 0-3 with a 7.30 ERA.

News: Betancourt tossed a clean ninth inning, striking out one on his way to his eighth save of the season Friday night.
Impact: He still has his shaky moments, but a 2.65 ERA and eight saves for a team 10 games under .500 isn't all bad, especially in this year of closing nightmares.

News: Tulowitzki was 3-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and one driven in Friday night.
Impact: He got off to a brutal start, but has really started to turn it around of late and now has his average up to .280 on the season. Any chance of buying low on the hard-hitting shortstop has probably passed.

News: Helton was 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and three RBI in the Rockies' 6-3 win over Cincinnati on Friday night.
Impact: It was his fifth long one of the season, but he was in the midst of a 3-for-26 funk going into this one and is hitting just .228 on year.

News: Friedrich allowed three runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out six over five innings as the Rockies downed the Reds, 6-3, on Friday night.
Impact: The youngster has been a bit inconsistent, holding his own in his first two starts before getting battered last time out and tossing a respectable game in this one. He will carry a 2-1 record and a 5.09 ERA into his next start at home against Houston and remains a somewhat risky play in most fantasy formats.

News: The Rockies placed Hernandez on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a strained left hand that has bothered him for several days and made it difficult to grip a bat tightly.
Impact: Hernandez batted .215 with four homers and 15 RBIs in 27 games. He went on the DL before the start of a weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds, his former team.

News: Chacin has a pectoral nerve-like issue, and a visit to the doctor showed no structural elbow or shoulder damage, the Denver Post's Troy Renck reports.
Impact: No word on how long the nerve issue will keep Chacin on the sideline, but doctors are confident he can overcome the injury with rest and strengthening exercises.

News: Nieves has been called up to the Rockies as the team placed Ramon Hernandez on the 15-day DL with a left hand strain, the Rockies Team Website reports.
Impact: Nieves will be available for Friday's game against the Reds. Wilin Rosario will likely handle most of the catching duties in Hernandez's absence, but Nieves will get a few starts behind the plate as well.

News: Pomeranz allowed six runs (two earned) off seven hits and a walk while striking out four through three innings against Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.
Impact: Pomeranz was demoted to Triple-A to work on his control and had thrown 11.2 scoreless innings with a 9:1 K:BB through his first two starts. He did not have the same luck this time around, though it wasn't his control that was the problem. Although the two errors help the pitching line, the real story was the lack of movement on pitches and the fact that he looked extremely hittable throughout the three innings he pitched. He will, obviously, need some more time down in Colorado Springs before receiving a promotion again.

News: Tulowitzki drove in a season-high four runs Wednesday.
Impact: He homered and had a double. It was his second homer in three games and sixth of the season. He's driven in seven runs the last three games and is batting .268.

News: Tulowitzki homered Wednesday and knocked in four runs, as he went 2-of-4 from the plate in the Rockies' win over the Marlins.
Impact: Tulowitzki has now homered three times in the past seven games after just three up until that point. It appears that Tulowitzki has hit that time of the season where he puts an end to his slow start and begins to rake. Now is the last chance to get him at anything less than his true value.

News: White wasn't all that great in going six innings and giving up four runs, but thanks to the Rockies offensive outburst he came out with the win on Wednesday over the Marlins.
Impact: White struck out just three over his six innings and he continues to struggle this season. His ERA still sits at 5.32 and his WHIP at 1.35, his value is based much more on long-term value at this point.

News: Herrera departed in the sixth inning Tuesday with a tight right hamstring and might go on the disabled list.
Impact: Herrera is batting .239 with two homers and four RBIs in 26 games.

News: Cuddyer went 3 for 3 with a walk for the Rockies in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to Miami.
Impact: Cuddyer is 7 for 10 with five doubles in the last three games.

News: Fowler is not playing Wednesday due to a twisted ankle, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: The report notes that Fowler "slightly rolled" his ankle, so the setback does not sound severe. Fowler will get another day to rest with the Rockies off Thursday, so don't be surprised if he returns to the lineup Friday.

Impact: Helton is just 3-for-20 in his career against Marlins starter Carlos Zambrano, so he will take a seat in favor of Jason Giambi.

Impact: LeMahieu can hit for average and is capable of playing across the infield. In 43 games for Triple-A Colorado Springs, LeMahieu was hitting .315/.354/.398 with 11 stolen bases in 16 attempts.

News: Herrera strained his hamstring in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins and is headed to the DL, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Chris Nelson is already on the DL, leaving the Rockies shorthanded in the infield. The team called up DJ LeMahieu to replace Herrera on the roster.

News: Nicasio took a beating Tuesday against the Marlins, allowing nine hits and six runs (five earned) over five innings of work.
Impact: Nicasio is up to a 4.83 ERA on the season after the performance. A 3.85 FIP on the back of a 48:20 K:BB suggests room for optimism, but with half of Nicasio's games coming at Coors Field, a 3.80-4.00 ERA is about the best we can expect out of him.

News: Scutaro is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, the Rockies' official Twitter feed reports.
Impact: He started six straight games for the Rockies after getting rest May 15, so Scutaro will likely be back in the mix Wednesday after yielding a start to Jon Herrera on Tuesday night.

News: Rosario is back behind the plate Tuesday night, the Rockies' official Twitter feed reports.
Impact: Ramon Hernandez is still feeling the lingering effects of a hand injury, so Rosario will get extra at-bats Tuesday night and could be in line for additional time if Hernandez's soreness persists.

Impact: Wilin Rosario is batting seventh and will handle the catching duties again Tuesday night against the Marlins.

News: Moyer pitched 3.2 innings in Monday's loss to the Marlins, allowing six runs, nine hits and four walks to go along with five strikeouts.
Impact: Moyer has gutted his way to a couple of wins this season, but he has a bloated 1.75 WHIP and isn't able to pitch very deep into games as a result. Owners in need of starting pitching help should pass on Moyer and consider other options.

News: Moyer has now pitched in 50 major league ballparks. The 49-year-old left-hander started for the Rockies in Miami on Monday night, making his debut at the newly opened Marlins Park. Moyer has played in more parks than any other major-league player going back to at least 1921. Rudy Seanez, whose last big-league appearance was in 2008, appeared in 47 ballparks.
Impact: Last month, Moyer became the oldest pitcher to win a major league game. He has pitched against 11 current big-league managers, including Miami's Ozzie Guillen, who went 4 for 22 against Moyer in his career. Moyer first pitched in the majors in 1986. He was 8-2 at the Marlins' former home, Sun Life Stadium.

News: Fowler will be back in the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Fowler did not start Sunday, but he did pick up his fifth home run of the season in a pinch-hit appearance. Fowler's .245 batting average is not great, but he has knocked in 19 runs in 38 games this season, which is well above his career rate of 47 RBI over a 162-game season.

News: Hernandez is still battling painful tendonitis in his left hand that is hindering his ability to grip a bat, reports Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post
Impact: The injury appears to be affecting his hitting as he is 1-for-his-last-19 and continues to lose playing time. He is not a viable option at this point and it is not a good sign that the injury is lingering this long.

News: Cuddyer went 3-for-4 at the plate with one run scored and his sixth stolen base of the year as the Rockies fell short against the Mariners on Sunday.
Impact: Cuddyer's second-inning single snapped an 0-for-13 stretch from his previous four games. In addition, he scored his first run in nine contests and nabbed his first stolen base in seven tilts Sunday. Look for Cuddyer to bounce back soon enough across the board.

News: Gonzalez hit his eighth homer of the season Sunday, going 3-for-5 overall with two RBI as Seattle lost at Colorado.
Impact: Gonzalez was 0-for-6 in the first two games of the series with the Mariners, but bounced back nicely in the third and final tilt, ending a 15-game homerless streak. One wonders if Sunday's shot is the jump-start Gonzalez needs to embark on a home run binge, as he did from Apr. 24 through May 2, when he drilled all seven of this season's homers over a nine-game period.

News: Guthrie gave up six earned runs on seven hits and two walks, while striking out four, in six innings of action Sunday.
Impact: Guthrie, who allowed three home runs in a game for the fifth time in his career, took the loss as the Rockies were swept in their three-game series by the Mariners. His sky-high ERA (5.55) and WHIP (1.458), along with a 3.28 K/9IP, provide more than enough evidence to look elsewhere for a viable fantasy starter.

News: Brothers was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Sunday, the Rockies' official Twitter page reports.
Impact: The lefty will be replaced in the bullpen by right-hander Adam Ottavino. The 24-year-old Brothers has notched two wins this year, but his high ERA (5.87) and WHIP (2.283) likely earned him his demotion.

News: Ottavino was recalled Sunday, the Rockies' official Twitter page reports.
Impact: Ottavino, who will be available out of the bullpen Sunday, replaced the optioned Rex Brothers on the 25-man roster. The right-handed Ottavino has recorded a 3.20 ERA and 25 strikeouts over 19.2 innings in Triple-A this year.

News: Helton is in Sunday's starting lineup, the Rockies' official Twitter page reports.
Impact: The 38-year-old has been getting every third day off since May 7, so look for Helton to get regular rest going forward.

News: Fowler is not in Sunday's starting lineup, the Rockies' official Twitter page reports.
Impact: Eric Young will be in center field and lead off against right-hander Blake Beavan and the Mariners. Fowler had been in the starting lineup for the last four games, going 5-for-9 over that stretch.

News: Friedrich allowed eight runs on nine hits in five innings against the Mariners on Saturday to take his first loss of the year.
Impact: After holding his own on the road against the Padres and Giants in his first two career starts, Friedrich struggled against a marginally better offense at home. Command was a big issue in this one, and a 56:44 strike-to-ball ratio resulted in three strikeouts versus four walks Saturday.

News: White (0-3) was the hard-luck loser, dropping his sixth straight start, 4-0 to Seattle on Friday.
Impact: White's dubious string dates back to Sept. 16.

News: De La Rosa's comeback from Tommy John surgery hit a speed bump Saturday when the Colorado Rockies decided to shut him down because of tightness in his left forearm.
Impact: De La Rosa had been on pace to return to the Rockies' rotation on June 2, which is a day shy of the one-year anniversary of his operation. But he's dealt with forearm tightness following his past two minor league outings. So, he will be able to pitch again on May 27, when a new 30-day clock starts ticking on his minor league rehab, although he could return to the Rockies at any point during that time frame.

News: Nicasio's right hip is a little sore from being hit by a line drive on Thursday.
Impact: This doesn't appear serious and shouldn't affect his turn in the rotation.

News: De La Rosa (elbow), who is currently rehabbing at Double-A Tulsa, will be placed back on the DL to get a new 30-day rehab window, the Rockies' official website reports.
Impact: The move will be made to comply with the MLB's rules for the length of rehabilitation periods, which institutes a seven-day freeze after the first 30 days of a rehab stint so teams don't abuse the privilege. De La Rosa still projects to return to the Rockies in mid-June.

News: Helton admits he's pressing because he is "jumpy", according to the Denver Post
Impact: "My bat feels good in the cage, but then I get in the box and that big .230 stares at you," Helton said before Friday's game. Helton's average has never been this low at this point in a season. Jim Tracy said he's not concerned, which in manager's speak means he is.

News: White was the hard-luck loser on Friday after giving up three runs (two earned) off seven hits with seven strikeouts against the Mariners.
Impact: This was a great start for White who exhibited excellent command throughout the night. He threw 97 pitches, 65 for strikes, and didn't walk a batter for the first time this season. He also posted a season-high in strikeouts and should be a decent option next week when he faces Miami on the road.

News: Pacheco hit his first home run of the season Thursday.
Impact: Pacheco appears to be Jim Tracy's third base flavor of the day, despite no power, no speed and no glove. A modest batting average should produce a few runs and RBI should he hold onto the job.

News: Tulowitzki went 2-for-4 with a homer and a walk Thursday.
Impact: If he's feeling any lingering pain from being hit by a line drive on Monday, he's sure not showing it.

News: As expected, De La Rosa (elbow) made another rehab start for Double-A Tulsa on Thursday. He allowed one run on three hits while striking out four and walking three.
Impact: The forearm tightness De La Rosa experienced over the weekend apparently wasn't too serious. He threw 73 pitches (43 strikes) over four innings of work Thursday. Barring any setbacks, De La Rosa remains on target to return to the Rockies in early June.

News: Nicasio took a no-decision Thursday, allowing one run and two hits over just 4.2 innings. He walked five and struck out seven.
Impact: Nicasio was inefficient, to say the least, needing a whopping 106 pitches. Despite the mediocre outing, Nicasio has allowed just two runs over his last 11.2 innings, striking out 16 over that span.

News: Giambi (foot) is ready to play the field.
Impact: Giambi can resume his weekly start with the "B" team on Sunday.

News: The Denver Post reports that Chacin hid the fact that he was having shoulder problems back in February and March.
Impact: The news on Chacin continues to worsen. Chacin is completely shut down while he deals with biceps tendinitis and shoulder inflammation. This is causing many to speculate that his heavy workload, 194 innings at age 23, might be to blame. His prognosis is highly uncertain at this point.

News: Gomez will begin the season on the disabled list with a groin strain.
Impact: It's unclear how much time Gomez will miss.

News: Moyer gave the Rockies 6.1 strong innings of one-run ball to pick up the win over the D-Backs on Wednesday night.
Impact: Moyer had what might be considered his best start of the season. He struck out five. Although a great story, his fantasy prospects are bleak at this stretch of his career.

News: Nelson was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a swollen left wrist.
Impact: Nelson, who is hitting .219, has been bothered by a sore and swollen left wrist for a while and manager Jim Tracy said shutting him down was the best way to get him healthy. The move was retroactive to Tuesday.

News: The Rockies have reinstated speedy outfielder Eric Young Jr. from the restricted list and placed infielder Chris Nelson on the 15-day disabled list with a swollen left wrist.
Impact: Young was placed on the bereavement list May 5 and then moved to the restricted list a week later. Following the death of his grandfather, Young played a couple of games at extended spring training in Scottsdale, Ariz. Young was hitting .296 when he went on leave.

News: Young has been activated from the restricted list, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Young will take the place of Chris Nelson on the disabled list and could see some time at shortstop with Troy Tulowitzki dealing with a leg injury, aside from his usual duties as a super utility type.

News: Tulowitzki (leg) is starting Wednesday against San Francisco, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Tulowitzki still says he feels the pain from the line drive that struck his leg earlier in the week, so consider him day-to-day for now despite his appearance in the lineup.

News: Nelson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a wrist injury, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Nelson will be replaced on the roster by Eric Young Jr. As of now, it's unknown if Nelson will need more than the requisite 15 days on the disabled list.

News: Tulowitzki had two hits in a 5-4 win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Impact: A night after taking a foul ball from teammate Dexter Fowler off his left leg, Tulowitzki played through soreness and busted out of a 2-for-14 slide.

News: Guthrie did not get a decision in a 5-4 win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Impact: Guthrie gave up one unearned run and four hits over 5 1-3 scoreless innings with four walks and four strikeouts.

News: Cuddyer had two hits in a 5-4 win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Impact: Cuddyer had one hit in his previous 10 at-bats.

News: Gonzalez had two hits in a 5-4 win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Impact: Gonzalez busted out of a 3-for-16 slump.

News: Scutaro appeared as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning Tuesday and lined a pitch over the left field wall against the Giants Santiago Casilla in what proved to be the game-winning run.
Impact: Over his last three games, Scutaro has tripled his RBI total -- to three. His job appears safe since none of the other infield options are faring much better, as highlighted Tuesday by Jordan Pacheco's failure to run out a dropped pop fly that cost the Rockies a run.

News: Although Tulowitzki made it through Tuesday's game after being hit in the leg by a teammate's line drive the previous day, he still feels pain and has swelling and bruising. When asked how he feels he replied, "terrible," according to Troy Renck of The Denver Post.
Impact: While it looks like Tulowitzki may avoid a DL stint, a closer examination of the game shows he was far from 100 percent and even looked hobbled legging out a hit. The problem is the Rockies don't have off until May 24, so as much of a gamer as he is, know that he may be playing on a bad wheel for a bit, and he's also not out of the woods for a day or two of rest either.

News: Brothers vultured his second win Tuesday after pitching a wild eighth inning against the Giants.
Impact: He opened the inning with a four-pitch walk, then following a sacrifice bunt, threw a ball in the dirt on an intentional walk and proceeded to walk Gregor Blanco on four more pitches. Brandon Belt bailed him out by swinging through what would have been his 13th straight pitch out of the strike zone before he amped up his fastball to 97 MPH and got the Giants to chase his slider. Brothers has electric stuff, but he's difficult to rely on right now as his poor control has pushed his WHIP up over 2.00. The 12.5 K/9IP offsets some of the damage, but it's better to keep him in reserve if you can until he calms down.

News: Tulowitzki has injured his left leg after teammate Dexter Fowler fouled a ball that hit him in the dugout during the eighth inning of Monday night's game with the San Francisco Giants.
Impact: After being examined by athletic trainer Keith Dugger, Tulowitzki stayed in the game and took his turn at-bat. He reached on an infield single against Javier Lopez but hobbled to the base, clearly in pain. Manager Jim Tracy and Dugger hustled out to first and Tulowitzki was lifted for pinch-runner Chris Nelson.

News: Guthrie is heading for the 15-day disabled list after injuring his right shoulder in a fall from his bicycle earlier Friday.
Impact: Manager Jim Tracy said Guthrie, a right-hander, was pedaling to the ballpark when the chain on his bicycle came off and he tumbled to the ground, jamming his shoulder in the fall. Guthrie was scratched from his scheduled start on Saturday against the Mets. He underwent an MRI and there was no sign of structural damage but he is dealing with pain in his AC joint, Tracy said.

News: Tulowitzki (leg) went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Giants.
Impact: It looks like he's fine after a pretty big scare Monday when he was hit by a line drive off of teammate Dexter Fowler's bat. X-rays came back negative, and at that point Tulowitzki seemed like a good bet to play the next day. As it turns out, it looks like he won't even miss an at-bat with the injury.

News: Betancourt worked around a hit and a walk to record the save Tuesday against the Giants.
Impact: It was Betancourt's first save since April 26 and his first opportunity since May 2. The Rockies just haven't given him many opportunities, and he's been understandably rusty. Still, he got the job done, and in a year of unstable closer situations his looks about as locked in as possible.

News: Guthrie (shoulder) was solid in his return from the disabled list, throwing 5.1 innings and allowing just one unearned run Tuesday against the Giants.
Impact: Guthrie was a bit wild, walking four, but he struck out an equal number and thus managed to limit the damage. Still, he owns a 4.85 ERA and Coors Field doesn't project to be very kind to him, so he isn't much of a hot commodity at this time.

News: The Rockies have optioned Torres to Triple-A Colorado Springs, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Torres is the odd man out, at least for the moment, with the Rockies needing a roster spot for the activation of Tuesday's starter, Jeremy Guthrie.

Impact: In order to make room for Guthrie -- Tuesday's starting pitcher -- the Rockies optioned Carlos Torres to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Impact: The Rockies outfielder was struck by a throw from Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis as he advanced on pitcher Alex White's bunt in front of the plate. Fowler is considered day to day.

News: Fowler (head) didn't start Monday, but later entered the game and had a walk and a strikeout.
Impact: He also inadvertently created the biggest headline from Monday's game, hitting a line drive into the Rockies' dugout that struck teammate Troy Tulowitzki on the leg.

News: Giambi (foot) was able to pinch-hit Monday and drew a walk before being lifted for a pinch-runner.
Impact: Giambi's starts at first base are pretty few and far between, barring an injury to Todd Helton, so it's hard to get much of a read on his status based on his recent game activity.

News: Guthrie (shoulder) will return from the DL on Tuesday to start against the Giants, the Rockies' official site reports.
Impact: Guthrie hurt his shoulder in a bicycle accident and not by pitching, so in theory we should be less concerned about a relapse. The Giants got to Guthrie in his previous start against them, albeit in Coors Field.

News: Rosario hit his fifth homer in his 53rd at-bat of the year in Monday's loss to the Giants.
Impact: It wouldn't be surprising if the ratio of playing time between he and Ramon Hernandez behind the plate flipped over the second half of the season, especially if the Rockies continue to fall out of the hunt in the NL West.

News: Friedrich was superb Monday night against the Giants, holding them to one run over seven innings. He allowed six hits and a walk while striking out 10.
Impact: The one blemish on his record Monday was a solo homer by Gregor Blanco, which caused Friedrich to leave with a no-decision. He needed just 93 pitches to get through his seven innings of work, throwing 69 for strikes.

News: Nelson replaced an injured Troy Tulowitzki on Monday night, playing third base while Marco Scutaro moved over to shortstop and Jonathan Herrera moved from third to second.
Impact: Depending on who the Rockies would call up if Tulowitzki needed to go on the DL, that's the likely infield arrangement for the near future.

News: X-Rays on Tulowitzki, who was hit in the leg by a line drive while standing in the dugout Monday, were negative and the shortstop is listed as day-to-day with a deep bruise on his fibula, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: While Tulowitzki is unlikely to play in the series finale against the Giants, it looks like his owners can breathe a sigh of relief that it wasn't something much worse. "When I went to the on-deck circle, I was sure it was because I couldn't feel anything," said Tulowitzki. "I guess you have a nerve in there like the elbow and that's what caused it to go numb. I know I am going to be really sore tomorrow. I don't know after that. I am not a doctor. But I'm glad that it's not worse."

News: Tulowitzki was nailed by a line drive off the bat of teammate Dexter Fowler while standing in the dugout in the eighth inning. He later left the game after limping down the line on an infield hit.
Impact: Chris Nelson replaced Tulowitzki in the game.

News: Chacin (shoulder) has been working in Denver to build up arm strength, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: He still hasn't thrown yet, however, and it's beginning to look like Chacin will miss a significant period of time as he needs to fully regain the strength in his arm before progressing back into minor league game situations.

Impact: Fortunately for Fowler, the blurry vision he experienced Sunday has subsided. He remains day-to-day while Tyler Colvin is making the start in center field Monday.

News: Pomeranz was strong his Triple-A debut on Sunday pitching six scoreless innings. He allowed five hits, struck out five and did not allow a walk against Triple-A Memphis.
Impact: Pomeranz was sent down in order to work on his control, and to improve repeating his delivery. He told MILB.com, "I felt great. My fastball had good downward angle and my curveball was the best it's been. I had been cutting it, making it a little slurvey. Everything was kind of flat, but I got on top of it today and it was a lot better."

News: The Rockies are confident that the left forearm tightness that De La Rosa experienced during his rehab start Saturday is not a serious issue, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: In fact, De La Rosa is expected to make another rehab start with Double-A Tulsa on Thursday. If that goes as planned, De La Rosa would likely be in line for two starts with Triple-A Colorado Springs, after which he could potentially rejoin the Rockies in early June.

News: Rogers struggled once again Sunday, giving up two runs on one hit with three walks in one inning pitched.
Impact: In his last four innings pitched (four appearances), Rogers has given up nine runs on seven hits with nine walks. Rogers has severely lacked command and the Rockies cannot have much confidence in him at this point.

News: Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base on Sunday. He now has six stolen bags in as many chances.
Impact: Gonzalez is hitting .300 on the season with seven homers, and 28 RBI. He leads the Rockies in total hits, homers, RBI and stolen bases.

News: Colvin went 2-for-4 with with a run scored on Sunday. He is batting .328 on the season.
Impact: Colvin started the game at first base and then moved to center field after Dexter Fowler left the game with an injury. Look for Colvin to pick up additional starts this week if Fowler misses extended time with his head injury.

News: Scutaro went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in the Rockies' 11-5 loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.
Impact: With two hits on Sunday, Scutaro raised his season average to .262. He has reached base in eight of his last 10 games from the leadoff position.

News: Being dropped from fourth to fifth in the batting order on Sunday did not lead to results, as Tulowitzki went 0-for-4 on Sunday.
Impact: Tulowitzki is really struggling at the plate as he is hitting .205 (8-for-39) in his last 10 games.

News: White had a brutal outing on Sunday, giving up six runs on five hits in only 4.1 innings. He also walked three, moving his record to 0-2 on the season.
Impact: White gave up one run in each of first two innings and then couldn't make it out of the fifth as the Dodgers ended up scoring six runs in the inning. It's likely that White will be sent down to Triple-A to work on his secondary pitches once Jeremy Guthrie is activated from the disabled list.

News: A person familiar with the decision says Major League Baseball has dropped its 100-game suspension of Colorado Rockies catcher Eliezer Alfonzo for a positive drug test because of the same procedural issues that came up in the Ryan Braun case. Alfonzo is eligible to play immediately, according to the person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Sunday night because no announcement had been made.
Impact: Mostly a backup during six major league seasons, Alfonzo become the first player suspended twice for performance-enhancing drugs under the MLB testing program when the commissioner's office announced a 100-game penalty last September. The person says Alfonzo is at home in Venezuela and is under contract with Rockies' Triple-A affiliate, Colorado Springs.

News: Fowler is back in Sunday's lineup against the Dodgers, according to the Rockies' official Twitter page.
Impact: Fowler, who is hitting .223 with four homers, 14 RBI and two steals through 94 at-bats, is back in the Rockies' lineup Sunday after sitting in favor of Tyler Colvin on Saturday.

News: Nelson is back in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers, according to the Rockies' official Twitter page.
Impact: Nelson, who gave way to Jonathan Herrera on Saturday, is back in the lineup against Dodger lefty Ted Lilly on Sunday.

Impact: This way Young can be back up to speed when he goes back on the active roster.

Impact: Giambi didn't start Sunday's game against the Dodgers, but he was available for pinch-hit duty.

Impact: Tulowitzki isn't where he wants to be right now, and particularly has struggled against lefties (3-for-33). The Rockies are facing lefty Ted Lilly on Sunday.

News: The Rockies believe that the forearm tightness that De La Rosa felt Saturday is a normal step in his rehab, the Rockies' official site reports.
Impact: The Rockies took this setback in stride. "You expect these types of bumps coming through rehab," trainer Keith Dugger said. "Is this a new injury? No. It's just a little inflammation, a little tightness, especially when you start upping the intensity and going against higher-level teams."

News: Fowler left Sunday's game against the Dodgers after getting hit on the left cheek by an A.J. Ellis throw on a stolen base attempt, the Rockies' official site reports.
Impact: Fowler briefly stayed in the game, long enough to score later in the inning, but then left the game afterward.

News: Outman received the loss Saturday night, giving up one run on one hit without recording an out.
Impact: This was Outman's first appearance of the season after beginning the year on the disabled list. A primary starter in Oakland the last two seasons, his shift to the bullpen in Colorado may take some time as he has to make the mental shift.

News: Colvin went 1-for-3 with a home run in the Rockies' loss to the Dodgers on Saturday.
Impact: The home run was Colvin's first away from Coors. He could eke out more playing time in the outfield with Dexter Fowler struggling at the plate.

News: Nicasio held the Dodgers to one run on five hits over seven innings Saturday, but he did not factor into the decision.
Impact: He struck out nine and did not walk a batter over his 102 pitches, but the Rockies' offense failed to do much against the Dodgers' pitching staff. Nicasio's home/road splits have been fairly drastic this season (8.10 ERA and 17:10 K:BB ratio at Coors Field, and a 1.31 ERA and 18:2 K:BB on the road), which is something to keep in mind when using him as a streamer option.

News: Helton had two hits as the Rockies lost to the Dodgers 7-3 Friday night.
Impact: Helton had a nice 2011, but he is not hitting well in 2012 to this point.

News: Moyer did not pitch well as the Rockies lost to the Dodgers 7-3 Friday night.
Impact: Moyer gave up five runs and seven hits over five innings and struck out seven. He is winless in four starts with a 6.43 ERA since breaking former Dodger Jack Quinn's record as the oldest pitcher to win a major league game.

News: In one of the most bizarre injuries in the history of baseball, Outman will begin 2012 on the 15-day disabled list with a strained oblique.
Impact: Outman's injury became legendary on Twitter because his brother Zach posted on the social media site that the southpaw suffered the injury by vomiting after eating at a 24-hour restaurant.

News: White lost his season debut Tuesday against the Padres but had a solid outing.
Impact: He gave up two runs in 6 1-3 innings. White made 10 starts last season with Colorado and Cleveland. He took the starting job from Jhoulys Chacin.

News: Pomeranz did better at the plate than on the mound as he was charged with a 3-2 loss to the Padres on Monday night. He yielded three runs over three innings.
Impact: Pomeranz stuck around long enough to hit his first career homer, driving a ball off the facade of the second-deck in left field off Edinson Volquez with one out in the third. Pomeranz was hit on the right leg by Volquez's liner with one out in the second. He fielded the ball and threw out Volquez. He was checked by the trainer and stayed in the game.Manager Jim Tracy said he doesn't think Pomeranz will miss his next start.

News: Gonzalez had two hits in a 3-2 loss to the Padres on Monday night.
Impact: Car-Go is 17 for 39 over his last 10 games.
