News: Conrad will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Brewers Media Relations Director Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: Conrad will get another chance to prove he belongs at the major league level as Travis Ishikawa heads to the disabled list with an oblique injury. Conrad went hitless in 21 at-bats with the Brewers earlier this month, but he's been tearing up Triple-A pitchers, hitting .405 with 10 home runs in 21 games in Nashville. The Brewers hope he can find his swing at the major league level this time around.

News: Ishikawa (oblique) will be placed on the 15-day DL on Monday, Brewers Media Relations Director Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: Brooks Conrad will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to fill Ishikawa's roster spot. The injuries continue to pile up for the Brewers, and Corey Hart will likely see more starts at first base in Ishikawa's absence, giving Hart some added value with position eligibility.

News: Lucroy is sitting Sunday against the Diamondbacks, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: With Randy Wolf pitching, George Kottaras gets the start as usual. Expect Lucroy to get an opportunity to pinch hit at some point, however.

News: Ramirez (elbow) remains out of the lineup Sunday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: Ramirez was hit in the elbow Friday against Arizona. He was expected to return Sunday and there isn't any word that the injury is more serious than a bruise, so he remains day-to-day and should be back early in the week.

News: Ishikawa has been diagnosed with a strained left oblique and may end up on the disabled list, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: The injury report for the Brewers keeps growing and growing. If Ishikawa lands on the DL, expect Corey Hart to see more time at first base, which will open up some playing time in the outfield for Nyjer Morgan and Carlos Gomez.

News: Greinke allowed seven runs (all earned) over 2.1 innings and was the losing pitcher Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
Impact: He gave up 10 hits while walking three and striking out three. Things have generally gone very well on the mound this season for Greinke, but when they do go wrong, it is ugly. This was his second horrible start of the season, with the other being Apr. 12 when he allowed eight runs to the Cubs. If you take away those two starts, though, Greinke's other eight outings have been great. The loss drops his record to 5-2 on the season to go along with a 3.66 ERA and 62 strikeouts.

News: Hart homered and drove in two runs Friday night in the Milwaukee Brewers' 7-1 victory.
Impact: Hart is batting .322 (19 for 59) with four homersm nine RBIs in his last 14 games.

News: Braun, Rickie Weeks and Corey Hart homered and YovaniGallardo maintained his mastery of Arizona on Friday night in the Milwaukee Brewers' 7-1 victory.
Impact: Braun has hit safely in 20 of 23 games.

News: Ramirez was scratched from Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks due to a bruised elbow, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: The bruised elbow is a result of being hit by a pitch Friday night. Ramirez will likely return to the lineup Sunday, but as for Saturday, Cody Ransom will get the start at third base in his place.

Impact: Gallardo (3-4) held the Diamondbacks to one run and five hits through 7 1-3 innings to improve to 6-0 in six career starts against Arizona. That doesn't count a victory over the Diamondbacks and Ian Kennedy in last year's divisional playoffs.

Impact: Aoki will return to action after sitting out Friday. He's heated up of late, going 13-for-33 (.394) over his last 11 games.

News: Gomez is in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks, Brewers Media Relations Director Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: With left-hander Wade Miley on the mound for the Diamondbacks, Gomez will get the start in center field. He will bat eighth in the Brewers' order.

News: Braun went 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run during the Brewers' 7-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Impact: Braun is now hitting .321 on the year with 13 home runs and 33 RBI. The groin issue doesn't seem to be a problem anymore, and he remains one of the top players overall in fantasy.

News: Hart finished 2-for-4 with a run scored, a home run and two RBI against Arizona on Friday.
Impact: The home run was Hart's 10th on the season, and he's up to 22 RBI. He's already been a solid fantasy outfielder, but if he continues to garner playing time at first base, he'll increase his appeal with multi-position eligibility.

News: Weeks went 1-for-4 with a home run during the Brewers' win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Impact: Weeks has struggled most of the season but has hit safely in three of his last four games after getting benched following an 0-for-5 night with four strikeouts back on May 19. He still has a long way to go before he can be a trusted member of your starting lineup, but this is, at least, promising.

News: Gallardo allowed just one run off five hits and three walks while striking out five through 7.1 innings against the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Impact: Though the three walks are more than you'd like to see by any starter, this was probably one of Gallardo's best starts of the season. He went deeper into the game than he has all year and held the Arizona hitters off balance for most of the night. His only blemish was a Jason Kubel home run in the fourth inning. Gallardo will match up against Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers for his next start.

News: Ransom will start Saturday's game at shortstop, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports.
Impact: The Brewers were going to give Ransom some playing time at shortstop after claiming him off waivers last week, but with Cesar Izturis landing on the DL due to an injury suffered Friday, Ransom could see more action at the shortstop position than originally expected. Ransom has started just 31 games at shortstop in his career, so it remains to be seen how he will handle the position defensively. However, after posting a .922 OPS over 52 plate appearances with the Diamondbacks earlier this season, and with the promise of regular playing time, he will be an intriguing short-term option in deeper leagues where he qualifies as a shortstop.

News: The Brewers placed Estrada (quadriceps) on the 15-day disabled list Friday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: He could be on the bench for four-to-six weeks because of the injury. The club will shut Estrada down for a few days and then assess his quadriceps. Manny Parra may be the frontrunner to take Estrada's slot in the rotation, but Wily Peralta and Mike Fiers are also candidates.

News: The Brewers recalled Maysonet from Triple-A Nashville on Friday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: He landed in Nashville earlier in the week, but the Brewers were able to recall him ahead of the 10-day minimum because Cesar Izturis (hamstring) hit the disabled list. Look for Maysonet to fill in around the infield, primarily short and third, during his stay.

News: The Brewers placed Izturis on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a strained left hamstring, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: Izturis pulled the hammy in Friday's game, and he becomes the second Brewers shortstop to hit the DL. The club recalled Edwin Maysonet from Triple-A Nashville to fill the hole on the 25-man roster, but Cody Ransom should fill in at short.

News: Estrada was forced to leave the game after sustaining a right leg injury while running out a double in the first inning Wednesday against San Francisco.
Impact: The team said Estrada will have an MRI to determine the extent of the injury.

News: The Brewers placed Izturis on the 15-day disabled list after he pulled his left hamstring running the bases against Arizona on Friday night.
Impact: The Brewers made the move right after the 7-1 victory, recalling shortstop Edwin Maysonette from Triple-A Nashville. Milwaukee already had lost shortstop Alex Gonzalez for the season with a torn ACL.

News: Izturis left Friday's game against the Diamondbacks with a strained left hamstring.
Impact: Injuries are hitting the Brewers in near-epidemic proportions. The recently acquired Cody Ransom was inserted in his place.

Impact: Gomez had a hot start to the season, but he's seen his average drop to .258 after going 2-for-18 over his last five games.

Impact: Morgan has been platooning with Norichika Aoki lately, and Morgan gets the nod Friday. He'll bat second and play center.

News: McClendon will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Friday, Mike Vassallo, the Brewers' media relations director, reports.
Impact: McClendon will take the roster spot of injured Marco Estrada, who has landed on the 15-day disabled list. He struggled in his first stint with the big-league club this season, giving up six earned runs and ten hits in 5.1 innings of work.

News: Parra has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Marco Estrada in the starting rotation.
Impact: Parra has worked exclusively in relief this season and has a 3.70 ERA in 24.3 innings. His hasn't started a games since 2010 and didn't do very well then. It would be hard to recommend picking him up based on him getting a few starts.

News: Estrada (quad) will miss his next three to four starts, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Impact: The injury doesn't appear to be something that will keep Estrada out of the rotation long-term. The Brewers will likely find a fill in for the next three weeks until he returns to the rotation.

News: Weeks, in a 4-for-46 slump, hit a two-run double off the base of the center-field wall in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Giants.
Impact: Weeks was batting .158 after Tuesday's game.

News: Marcum (2-3) gave up six runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings of Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Giants.
Impact: It was the first time this season the right-hander gave up more than three earned runs.

News: Ramirez's first-inning bases-clearing double Wednesday against the Giants gave him extra-base hits in four straight games. He finished 2-for-5 with three RBI.
Impact: Aramis has had trouble getting it going this year, but with a homer, three doubles and six RBI in his last four games, he just might finally be coming around.

News: Aoki went 1-for-3 with a walk, his first big-league steal and two runs in Wednesday's win over the Giants.
Impact: Aoki stole as many as 31 bases in a season when he played in Japan, but swiped a career-low eight last year before coming over to the bigs this year. He's been a serviceable fourth outfielder for the Brewers.

News: Lucroy went 2-for-4 and bopped his fifth homer of the year Wednesday in a win over the Giants.
Impact: The Brewers catcher has somewhat quietly been as hot as anyone in May, with 30 hits in 75 at-bats -- good for .400 on the dot.

News: The Brewers optioned Maysonet to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, Brewers Director of Media Relations Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: Maysonet went just 3-for-21 in 13 games with the Brewers this season, so the team decided to send him down to make room on the roster for Cody Ransom, who was claimed off waivers Wednesday. Given the Brewers' lack of depth at shortstop, Maysonet could be back in Milwaukee at some point this season.

News: The Brewers claimed Ransom off waivers Wednesday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: The Diamondbacks placed Ransom on waivers last week. He put together a .269/.345/.577 line in Arizona with four homers and 13 RBI in 52 at-bats. He started 13 games, all at third base. He will play more of a utility infielder role in Milwaukee and could see time at any infield position.

News: The Brewers transferred Gonzalez (knee) to the 60-day disabled list Wednesday, Brewers Media Relations Director Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: Gonzalez is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a torn ACL, so the move to the longer list won't affect his status for the current campaign. Cody Ransom, claimed off waivers from the Diamondbacks, will take Gonzalez's spot on the 40-man roster.

News: Estrada exited his start against San Francisco on Wednesday after just one inning with a right hip flexor strain, the Brewers' official Twitter reports.
Impact: Estrada was replaced by long reliever Manny Parra, a former starter who could be a candidate to replace Estrada in the rotation should the injury force him to miss a few starts. Estrada, who was already filling in for injured fifth starter Chris Narveson, should be considered day-to-day for now.

News: Hart is back in the lineup Wednesday, Director of Media Relations Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: Hart is leading off and playing first base after a day off Tuesday. It appears as though his move from right field could stick for a while as the Brewers have more outfield depth than corner-infield depth at the present time.

News: Marcum took the loss Tuesday against the Giants, allowing six runs on five hits and two walks in six innings.
Impact: The home run ball killed Marcum, as he allowed a pair of two-run homers to Joaquin Arias and Buster Posey. As a soft-tosser, Marcum will occasionally have these games. His ERA currently sits at 3.93 and with a 3.74 FIP, we shouldn't expect too much to change as the season goes on.

News: Gamel had surgery Tuesday to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
Impact: Gamel was hurt May 1 while trying to catch a foul popup in an 8-3 victory at San Diego. He was hitting .246 with one home run and six RBIs this season after taking Prince Fielder's spot in the field. Gamel is one of three Milwaukee players out for the season with injuries.

News: Hart is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Director of Media Relations Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: Taylor Green is playing first base while Norichika Aoki is in right field. It's possible that it's just a maintenance day for Hart following a 14-inning game Monday night.

Impact: Apparently he's OK after leaving Monday's game after an at-bat in extra innings, but we'll keep an eye on the lineup throughout the evening in the event of a late switch.

News: Gamel (knee) underwent surgery Tuesday morning to repair his torn ACL, Brewers Media Relations Director Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: The 26-year-old is out for the year and faces a lengthy recovery after suffering the injury on May 1. Gamel seemed primed for a breakout campaign after the departure of Prince Fielder in the offseason, but things didn't work out as planned for Gamel or the Brewers. Travis Ishikawa, Taylor Green - and maybe now Corey Hart - will continue to see time at first base going forward, with Gamel out of action until next spring at the earliest.

News: Braun (groin) was unsure following Monday's game if he'll be able to play Tuesday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: "We'll see how it feels," said Braun, who exited Monday's game prior to the 11th inning with right groin tightness. The Brewers might feel the need to give last year's NL-MVP a day (or two) off, but nothing is definite yet.

News: Hart will start Monday's game at first base, Brewers Media Relations Dir. Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: Monday's game will be just the second Hart has started at first base in his career. First basemen don't hit leadoff very often, but that's where Hart will open Monday night. It remains to be seen how much action he will see at first going forward, but playing this position could make him a more versatile fantasy player by giving him eligibility at another spot.

News: Lucroy is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants, according to Brewers Media Relations Dir. Mike Vassallo.
Impact: Though Lucroy knocked in seven runs in Sunday's game, manager Ron Roenicke will stick to his plan of using George Kottaras as the catcher when Randy Wolf is on the mound. Expect Lucroy to be back behind the plate for Tuesday's game.

News: Weeks is back in the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants, Brewers Media Relations Dir. Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: Weeks sat out Sunday after striking out four times in five at-bats the day before. Weeks has just two extra-base hits - and only six hits altogether - in 15 games this month, so he's not doing much for fantasy owners right now. He's worth hanging onto in most formats considering his ADP and power potential if he turns things around, but those that have him on their fantasy team should be thinking about another short-term option if they haven't already.

News: Ramirez is back in the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants, Brewers Media Relations Dir. Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: Ramirez was given Sunday off amid a 1-for-15 run at the plate, but he will return to his usual spot at the hot corner Monday night. Ramirez is hitting just .222 in May, but he does have 11 RBI through the month's first 17 games.

News: The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled third baseman Josh Bell from Triple-A Reno and designated infielder Cody Ransom for assignment.
Impact: Ransom hit .269 in 17 games for the Diamondbacks with four home runs, four doubles and 13 RBIs.

News: Wolf struck out four and walked three while giving up three runs on five hits over seven innings in a no-decision against the Giants on Monday night.
Impact: Interestingly enough, Wolf continues to deliver serviceable innings at Miller Park while getting pounded on the road (9.78 ERA, 8:9 BB:K in 19.1 innings over four starts). He'll face the D-Backs on Sunday at Chase Field in his next outing, and should be avoided in most formats given the quality of the opponent and hitter-friendly environment.

News: Braun left Monday's game prior to the start of the 11th inning with right groin tightness, Tom Haudricout of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: Groin tightness slowed Braun during spring training, but it was Achilles soreness that sidelined him a couple of weeks back. Prior to departing, Braun was 2-for-5 with a game-tying two-run homer off Giants starter Madison Bumgarner in the eighth inning. For now, consider him day-to-day to the new ailment.

News: Braun was removed from Monday's game after grounding out to second base in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Impact: Although Braun made the final out of the inning, it's unlikely that manager Ron Roenicke would pull him simply for defensive reasons. Braun recently battled Achilles soreness and it's reasonable to think a similar ailment may have led to his early departure Monday night.

News: Ransom has been designated for assignment, the D-Backs' official Twitter feed reports.
Impact: The move was made to clear space on the active and 40-man roster for Josh Bell, who was called up from Reno on Monday. Ransom is just 7-for-30 (.233) with a 1:16 BB:K over the last 11 games despite a .922 OPS including four home runs over 52 at-bats with the D-Backs this season.

News: Chulk cleared waivers and was assigned to Triple-A on Monday by the Brewers, reports the team's Media Relations Director Mike Vassallo.
Impact: Chulk was designated for assignment on Saturday, with Juan Perez taking his roster spot.

News: Gomez returned from the DL and went 1-for-2 with a run scored during Sunday's game against the Twins.
Impact: The Brewers will try to find room for Gomez in a crowded outfield. It's possible that Corey Hart will move to first base, freeing up more playing time for Gomez. He still won't play everyday, but a move like that could increase his stolen base opportunities.

News: Braun doubled twice and recorded four RBI as part of a 3-for-4 day Sunday against the Twins.
Impact: Braun 2011: .332/.397/.597. Braun 2012: .331/.402/.635. Looks like all the offseason craziness (steroid accusations, losing the protection of Prince Fielder) hasn't hurt him a bit.

News: Greinke moved to 5-1 with a win Sunday over the Twins, holding them to one run on five hits and two walks over 6.2 innings of work.
Impact: Greinke struck out six and walked two. It wasn't quite as dominant as his last two starts, but Greinke has his ERA down to 2.70 and is finally seeing results in line with his always excellent peripheral statistics.

News: Lucroy has a career day Sunday against Minnesota, hitting two home runs (including a grand slam) and recording seven RBI as part of a 3-for-5 day.
Impact: Lucroy has been on fire all season and elevated his triple-slash line to .342/.389/.550 with the performance. All hot streaks must inevitably come to an end, but there's plenty to be excited about with Lucroy's start, most notably a career-high .185 ISO supported by seven doubles, three triples and four home runs.

News: Gomez is on the DL with a strained left hamstring.
Impact: He suffered the injury Friday.

News: Izturis is back in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins, Brewers Media Relations Director Mike Vassallo reports.
Impact: Izturis was not in Saturday's starting lineup, but came off the bench and went 0-for-2 in the contest. He had hit safely in eight of his last nine games before then, but he's batting just .212 with one homer and three RBI on the year.

Impact: Cesar Izturis gets a day off. Maysonet started last Saturday and hit a grand slam.

News: Izturis is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Twins.
Impact: Looks like a routine day off for Izturis, who became the starting shortstop when Alex Gonzalez was lost for the season. Edwin Maysonet will start at shortstop Saturday.

News: Braun went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored against the Twins on Friday.
Impact: Braun has a seven-game hitting streak working and has now hit safely in 14 of his last 16 games. With a .317 average, 11 home runs and 23 RBI, Braun has re-established himself a standout, top option and there has been virtually no talk of the offseason events that could have had him suspended for 50 games.

News: Estrada moved to 0-3 on the season after giving up four runs off six hits and a walk while striking out five through five innings against the Twins.
Impact: Although he was charged with all four runs, errors and shoddy defense didn't really help the cause. Estrada has actually been roughed up in three of his last four outings, and though he has a very nice 32:7 K:BB ratio, he is not someone to trust on a regular basis.

News: Marcum remains sore after suffering a cramp during his start Thursday but hopes he will not miss his next outing, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt reports.
Impact: Marcum has had a solid beginning to the season after faltering badly down the stretch last year. The Brewers would have Tim Dillard or Manny Parra available if a spot start was needed.

Greinke's ERA is now under 3.00 and his K/BB of 5.1 is reminiscent of his Cy Young campaign in 2009, when he had a mark of 4.7.
