Impact: Napoli missed his second straight start Saturday, but he came off the bench and went 0-for-2 in the contest. It's now safe for owners to insert Napoli, who has seven homers and 18 RBI on the year, back into fantasy lineups.

Impact: After going 0 for 2 during the victory, Napoli told the team's website that he hopes to return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale.

News: Moreland went 3-for-4 with a home run in Saturday's 8-7 win over the Blue Jays.
Impact: Moreland was having a fine day before Mike Napoli replaced him in the tenth inning. He is hitting well lately and should be in the lineup Sunday with the Rangers slated to face right-hander Kyle Drabek.

News: Hamilton went 2-for-6 with a home run, a run scored, and three RBI on Saturday. He hit a walk-off two-run homer in the 13th to win it for the Rangers.
Impact: Hamilton has 20 home runs and 53 RBI with a month and a half to go before the All-Star break. There isn't much you can say besides "wow" at this point.

News: Lewis gave up four runs on ten hits and struck out six batters over 5.1 innings Saturday against Toronto.
Impact: He did not get a decision, and his ERA for the year still stands at a solid 3.58. Although the numbers look good, Lewis struggled mightily in three of his last four starts and has already allowed 14 homers this year. This is especially worrisome because he allowed 35 homers last year after giving up only 21 in 2010. Lewis will look to turn things around Friday against the Angels.

News: Holland gave up two runs and five hits in 7 1-3 innings of a win over Toronto on Friday.
Impact: Holland bounced back after going five innings his previous start and allowing five runs and three homers. He is 4-3 and has a 4.05 ERA.

News: Cruz drove in eight runs Friday in a win over Toronto.
Impact: Cruz had four hits, including a seventh-inning grand slam. He has 31 RBIs this season to go with five homers and a .275 batting average. He went 0 for 9 the previous series against Seattle.

Impact: Hamilton's removal likely had as much to do with the lopsided score as it did with the illness, so don't hesitate to stick him in your lineup as usual Saturday.

Impact: Napoli is still under the weather, so Yorvit Torrealba will get another start behind the plate Saturday afternoon. Napoli remains day-to-day.

Impact: Whether that happens remains to be seen, of course, but any sort of external addition via trade or free agency would seem to lessen the chances of Feliz coming back as a starter once healthy.

News: Texas views Scott Feldman as the best in-house candidate to serve as the fifth starter during Neftali Feliz's absence, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact: There was some initial thought that Ogando would shift back to the rotation when Feliz got injured but those plans are apparently on the back burner at the moment.

Impact: Feldman struggled in his start last week in place of Feliz, but there aren't any plans to replace him with Alexi Ogando or a minor-leaguer at this time.

News: Hamilton has left Friday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays in the seventh inning with a head cold.
Impact: Hamilton hit his 19th home run, which tops the major leagues, leading off the second inning to snap an 11-game drought without a homer.

News: Hamilton was 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and a solo home run Friday night.
Impact: Hamilton has been rather human lately, but his 19th home run was a blast into the upper deck against a strong wind, and he is still hitting .378 with 50 RBI on the year. He actually left the game in the seventh inning with what was described as a head cold. Translation: Take the rest of the night off, Josh, there's no reason to risk an injury with a 14-1 lead.

News: Cruz was 4-for-5 with two runs scored and eight driven in as Texas pummeled the Blue Jays, 14-3, on Friday night.
Impact: A bases-loaded double and a grand slam can make for a pretty good week, and Cruz combined them into one game. He is always an injury risk, and he is streaky, but he can be a fantasy juggernaut when he's hot, and he may be heating up now.

News: Holland allowed two runs on five hits, walking one and striking out nine over 7.1 innings of a 14-3 blowout win over Toronto on Friday night.
Impact: Staked to a huge lead early, Holland was on autopilot throughout most of the game. He looked extremely sharp in this one, and will carry a 4-3 record and a 4.05 ERA into his next start against Seattle in Arlington.

News: Napoli was scratched from Friday's lineup due to an illness, FSN's Anthony Andro reports.
Impact: Napoli was in the Rangers' original starting lineup, but apparently he is not feeling good enough to play. Yorvit Torrealba will replace Napoli, who should be considered day-to-day.

News: The Rangers have acquired Gaub on a waiver claim from the Rays.
Impact: Gaub was added to the Rangers' 40-man roster Thursday and optioned to Triple-A Round Rock. In 16 relief appearances this season at Triple-A Durham, Gaub was 0-1 with a save and a 4.32 ERA. The Rays had acquired Gaub off waivers from the Chicago Cubs on April 5.

News: Gaub was claimed off waivers by Texas on Thursday, Roger Mooney of The Tampa Tribune reports.
Impact: Gaub, who was designated for assignment by the Rays earlier in the week, was picked up off waivers by the Rangers on Thursday. He has remained in the minors for the majority of his career, logging only 2.2 innings in the majors with the Cubs in 2011.

News: Torrealba is in the starting lineup Wednesday, ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Manager Ron Washington likely wanted to give Mike Napoli the day off Wednesday to give him two days in a row of rest, as the Rangers don't have a game on Thursday. He'll return to a bench role for the weekend series against Toronto.

News: Feldman earned his second loss in a row Wednesday, giving up five runs on three hits and five walks (one intentional), while striking out one in 4.1 innings during the Rangers' loss at Seattle.
Impact: Feldman's intentional pass in the fifth inning loaded the bases for the Mariners' Alex Liddi, who promptly eked a grand slam out of Safeco Field. Feldman entered the rotation recently for the injured Neftali Feliz (elbow), who could possibly sit out until the All-Star break. In three starts this season, Feldman has a 5.11 ERA and 1.541 WHIP with six strikeouts in just 12.1 innings, making him unusable in the majority of fantasy leagues.

News: Beltre went 2-for-4, including a two-run homer, as Texas fell short at Seattle on Wednesday.
Impact: Beltre has hit safely in 14 of his last 16 games following a sore hamstring that limited him to pinch-hitting appearances the first week of May. During that time, he's batted .296 with four home runs, 10 runs and 12 RBI. While these outputs are slightly below April's numbers, the 33-year-old Beltre continues to be a top fantasy third baseman.

News: Harrison earned his fifth win with a victory over Seattle on Tuesday.
Impact: Harrison allowed one run and seven hits in seven innings, striking out six. He improved to 5-3 with a 4.72 ERA, including 2-1 with a 3.91 ERA in the last four games.

News: Napoli is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners, ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Wednesday amounts to an off day for Napoli, who has struggled at the plate in May, with just three extra-base hits (no home runs) to his credit. Yorvit Torrealba makes the start at catcher.

News: Hamilton, who entered Tuesday's game in a 3-for-17 slump, feels that he identified a flaw in his swing that was resulting in poorer pitch recognition, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact: Hamilton has been attacking pitches early in the count all season, so it's possible that the league is making adjustments as well in an attempt to get him to chase early in the count.

Impact: Remember the first two weeks of the season when Nathan was a little shaky? With Tuesday's outing he has lowered his ERA to 2.41 with a 0.96 ERA and a stunning 23:2 K:BB ratio. In this mixed-up, crazy, topsy-turvy closer world, Nathan is as solid as it gets.

News: Harrison held the Mariners to one run over seven-plus innings Tuesday, giving up seven hits and two walks while striking out six to get the win.
Impact: Harrison got a big assist from Mike Adams in this one, as Adams shut down the side after Harrison allowed the first two batters to reach in the eighth inning.

News: Pitching at full strength after being weakened over the last week due to an illness, Adams came into the eighth inning with two runners on, nobody out, and slammed the door shut on the Mariners, the Rangers' official site reports.
Impact: Adams left no doubt that he's back in top form, striking out two of the three batters he faced. "I feel it's better, a lot better than the last week and a half," Adams said. "I didn't see that as a problem tonight. I'm glad it's behind me."

News: Hamilton had a poor effort Monday in a 6-1 loss to Seattle.
Impact: Hamilton went 0 for 4 and committed an error.

News: Darvish went down to defeat Monday in a 6-1 loss to Seattle.
Impact: Darvish labored through 96 pitches and a season-high six walks in four innings and was denied the chance to become the first seven-game winner in the majors.

Impact: Kinsler is 11 for 33 in his last seven games.

Impact: Moreland has seven homers - not bad for someone batting ninth in a loaded Texas lineup.

News: Darvish lasted just four innings in Monday's start against the Mariners, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits and a whopping six walks.
Impact: Darvish also had control issues against the Mariners in his first start of the year. This was his shortest start of the season.

News: Texas GM Jon Daniels wouldn't commit to Feliz (elbow) remaining in the rotation upon his return, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact: "It's something we've got to think about," Daniels said. "[Feliz] was as strong and well-conditioned as he's ever been. But as I said about options - we'll consider them all - that goes for his future, too. Everything is on the table. We've got to consider what is best for Neftali." It's not clear what his role would be if he moves back to the bullpen with the success that Joe Nathan has had as closer to date, but a switch of roles with Alexei Ogando would seem to make the most sense on paper if that's the route Texas decides to go with.

News: Texas will consider moving Ogando back to the rotation with the injury to Neftali Feliz, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact: Complicating things of course is Ogando's success as a multi-inning reliever and the fact that it would take close to two weeks to get Ogando ready to handle a six-inning workload again.

News: The Rangers have placed Feliz on the 15-Day DL with right elbow inflammation, FSN's Anthony Andro reports.
Impact: With Feliz sidelined, Scott Feldman is expected to take his spot in the Rangers' rotation for the time being.

News: Feldman will reportedly join the rotation with the injury to Neftali Feliz, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact: The exact nature of Feliz's injury isn't known, but Feldman figures to pick up any and all starts in Feliz's absence.

News: Feliz will reportedly be placed on the 15-day DL with an elbow injury, the exact nature of which was to be determined via an MRI according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Impact: Feliz struggled with his control on Friday (albeit not for the first time this season), and Texas reportedly placed him on the DL without seeing the results of the MRI as a way to avoid having Feliz pitching through the discomfort if no structural damage is found. Scott Feldman is expected to take Feliz's spot in the rotation.

News: Gaub has been designated for assignment by the Rays, the Tampa Tribune's Roger Mooney reports.
Impact: The move was made to clear space on the 40-man roster for Drew Sutton. It's possible that Gaub will simply clear waivers and remain at Triple-A Durham.

News: Texas placed Feliz on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation and recalled reliever Yoshinori Tateyama from Triple-A Round Rock.
Impact: Feliz was sent to the DL on Monday, three days after walking five and throwing 51 balls among 100 pitches in a 4-1 win over Houston. Feliz came out after 4 2-3 innings, missing a chance to get the win.

News: Feliz (elbow inflammation) could be out until the All-Star break, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
Impact: Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine will not throw for four weeks, and which point he'll resume throwing to build up strength in his arm again. That process will likely carry Feliz into mid-July, and he'll also need rehab starts before returning to the Rangers' rotation. Fortunately for Feliz, his MRI did not reveal any tears, but the Rangers are taking a very cautious approach with his recovery.

News: Tateyama has been called up by the Rangers, reports Julia Morales of YNN Austin.
Impact: With Neftali Feliz being placed on the 15-Day DL, the Rangers needed someone to fill a roster spot. Tateyama had a 4.50 ERA in 39 relief appearances for Texas in 2011, and has had a 0.54 ERA pitching in 12 Triple-A games this season.

News: Adams (illness) reported feeling better prior to Sunday's game, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact: Tests have ruled out pneumonia, and he'll presumably be available for use in the series up in Seattle to begin the week.

News: Cruz (quad tightness) was able to play in Sunday's game in Houston, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact: Cruz's history with leg-related ailments is well known, but it sounds like this won't be enough to keep him sidelined. He'll be able to DH as needed now that the first wave of interleague games are over as well, so there's no reason to think those in weekly leagues won't get a full week out of him.

News: Holland allowed five runs in five innings of Saturday's 6-5 loss to Houston.
Impact: Holland allowed one total run in his previous three starts.

News: Murphy hit a three-run homer in Saturday's 6-5 loss to Houston.
Impact: Murphy has one hit in each of the last four games.

News: Murphy hit his fifth home run Sunday against the Astros, recording his 15th RBI in the process.
Impact: Murphy remains an excellent option in leagues with larger rosters, as he's locked in a platoon with Craig Gentry but crushes right-handed pitching. His line on the season is up to .271/.333/.477.

News: Lewis was stellar Sunday against the Astros, allowing four hits and one run over eight innings in a victory.
Impact: Lewis struck out six and walked just one. His ERA is down to 3.30 and he picked up his fourth win of the season. With the way the Rangers hit, Lewis should have no trouble getting to double-digit victories assuming health.

News: Murphy is back in the lineup Saturday for the Rangers, Rangers VP of Communications John Blake reports.
Impact: Murphy was out of the lineup Friday with lefty Wandy Rodriguez on the mound for the Astros. With right-hander Lucas Harrell starting for Houston, Murphy returns to left field and will bat sixth.

Impact: Interleague play has forced Moreland to the bench, as the team has opted to keep Michael Young in the lineup the last two games. Young has shown the ability to play all over the diamond, so it's possible Moreland plays on Sunday while another infielder gets a rest.

Impact: Holland had gone three starts without allowing a home run, but a trio of homers doomed him in this one. Bear in mind that nine days elapsed since his previous start, so Holland's routine may have been a bit off.

News: Cruz said after Saturday's game that he has been dealing with some tightness in his right quadriceps, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact: Cruz left Saturday's game an inning early, but it sounds like he will play through the malady. He reported feeling the tightness for the past three days, and he has gone 2-for-13 over that span.

Impact: Feliz is 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA in his last two road starts.

Impact: Adams is recovering from a respiratory infection and underwent urgent care Friday. It's certainly possible the Rangers may elect not to use him for the rest of the series.

News: Hamilton and the Rangers don't expect to discuss contract talks again before the offseason, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact: Hamilton's talk of taking his services elsewhere continued as well, with the slugger saying "I want to do [God's] will more than mine, so I don't necessarily want to do what's comfortable for me or my family. If he has us leave and go somewhere else, it might not be comfortable, but you know what? That's going to draw me closer to him and have a better relationship with him. ... It's not about where I want to be. It's about where he wants me to be."

News: Beltre went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a home run, and two RBI against the Astros on Friday.
Impact: Beltre has a nine-game hitting streak working now and is batting .324 with two home runs and eight RBI in that span. He seems fully recovered from his hamstring injury and remains a top option at third base.

News: Feliz gave up one run off three hits and five walks while striking out six in 4.2 innings against the Astros on Friday night.
Impact: A lack of command was the biggest issue for Feliz, as evidenced by the excessive number of walks issued. He threw 101 pitches (50 for strikes) and still couldn't make it through a full five frames and had to give way to the bullpen. Feliz has been up and down all season but has so much potential and a history of such strong strikeout totals that sometimes you just have to endure nights like this to reap the other benefits later.

News: Nathan, pitching for the fourth straight day, picked up the save in Friday's game with a scoreless ninth inning.
Impact: He'll almost certainly be unavailable for Saturday's game with the recent workload for those in daily leagues.

Impact: Andrus is hitting a robust .242 in May.

Impact: Gentry raised his average 19 points to .310.

News: Hamilton is out of the lineup for the first time since a hot streak that vaulted him to the American League lead in all three Triple Crown categories.
Impact: The former AL MVP has cooled off some - but not much - since hitting .467 (14 of 30) with two doubles, nine homers and 18 RBIs over seven games. Homerless in his past four games, Hamilton still has a 16-game hitting streak. He entered Thursday leading the AL in average (.404), homers (18) and RBIs (45).

News: Gentry is starting in center field for the Rangers Thursday, MLB.com reports.
Impact: Gentry will almost undoubtedly fail to match the production of the man he's filling in for, Josh Hamilton, who is receiving a day of rest. Still, Gentry brings more of a speed dimension than Hamilton, as evidenced by his five steals in just 58 at-bats.

News: Kinsler (illness) will return to the lineup on Thursday against Oakland, batting in his customary leadoff spot, ESPN Dallas reports.
Impact: It appears the stomach virus that caused him to miss Wednesday's game has passed. Look for him to keep on rolling at the plate.

Impact: Lewis was charged with seven runs - two earned. He had both of the Rangers' errors in the game so the runs were really all his fault although it won't hurt his ERA.

News: Lewis took the loss Tuesday against Kansas City, allowing seven runs over 5.2 innings (but just two earned).
Impact: Lewis allowed eight hits and two walks and both of the errors were self-committed, so he can't really blame anybody else but himself. Still, fantasy owners can't complain -- with the unearned runs Lewis still enjoys a 3.18 ERA on the start and a 3.63 ERA on the year.

News: Hamilton singled and walked in a 3-1 loss to the Royals on Monday.
Impact: It was a tame effort for Hamilton but he is entitled to one off day the way he has been producing.

News: Feldman allowed two unearned runs over 4 2-3 innings in a 3-1 loss to the Royals on Monday.
Impact: Feldman made his second spot start this season. ``He certainly gave us a lot more than we expected,'' Texas manager Ron Washington said. ``Unfortunately, the guy who made the mistake is one who doesn't make many.''

Impact: It's a planned day off for the Rangers' shortstop, so look for him to return to action Wednesday.

Impact: He'll move back into a long relief role after the spot start Monday night. Feldman continues to chug along with a very low strikeout rate, and lack value as a staff filler in deeper leagues as a result.

Impact: Cruz went 4-for-5 with three runs scored. The homer was his first since April 17, and the night raised his OPS from .681 to .741.

News: Lowe was strafed by the Angels on Sunday night, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk and retiring just two batters.
Impact: Prior to Sunday night, Lowe had been nearly perfect. In 11.2 innings, he had a 0.77 ERA and 0.77 WHIP with a 14:2 K:BB. The gopher ball was a problem for Lowe last season (six homers in 45 innings) and it reared its ugly head Sunday as well.

News: Feliz gave up two runs over six innings, allowing four hits and two walks to beat the Angels on Sunday night. He struck out five.
Impact: Feliz fell behind early on a two-run homer by Mark Trumbo, but held the fort in time for the Rangers to rally, which they did in large measure. He's a medium-risk, high-reward pitcher as a starter. That risk will increase as the weather heats up this summer.

News: Hamilton hit another bomb in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Angels.
Impact: Hamilton hit his ninth homer in six games and leads the AL with a .402 average and tops the majors with 18 home runs and 41 RBIs. "It's been a good week," he said. "I'm thanking God for it. I'm trying to stay out of the way and think as little as possible and go out there and just go. Just ride it while it's going."

News: Harrison fell to 4-3 with Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Angels.

Impact: Torrealba was 1 for 18 in his previous six games.

News: Hamilton became the 16th player in major league history to hit four home runs in a game, doing so Tuesday against the Orioles.
Impact: All four were two-run shots and he also added a double for an AL record 18 total bases. He's batting .406 and leads the majors with 13 homers and 36 RBIs.

News: Feliz had one of his best outings of the season Tuesday against the Orioles, striking out eight in six innings.
Impact: Feliz picked up his second win over the season, allowing one run and four hits. He is 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA.
