Reigning world champion Kimi Raikkonen is looking forward to his summer break.

Formula One is having its mid-season break coming back for the European Grand Prix in Valencia.

Raikkonen has struggled in the past few races and the Finn is grateful for the chance to get away from it all.

He said: "I don't want to deny that the last races didn't go as I wanted. Every time something strange happened and we didn't manage to find the best possible set up for the car.

"We tried to find a good compromise, but it didn't help. We've got to solve that problem now for the upcoming race at Valencia. The qualifying was the decisive moment also at Budapest, in a negative way."

Raikkonen added: "This short break comes at the right time. We have to recharge our batteries after six months of giving it all, racing and testing, so we're ready for the next race and for the finale of the season.

"The situation in the Championship is not too bad: obviously one can always improve and this is exactly what we want to do."

I'm not worried about Kimi. And I don't think Lewis will try to mess with him one on one. Unless he catches him stopped at a red light again.

... a couple of Vodka Saunas and 23-Hour days up in LappLand, and Kimi will be totally re-charged...

He looked a bit doubtful at this point last year as well... all he did was finish the season 2-2-3-1-3-1-1...

I think he needs to show his fangs, like what Felipe Massa did in Hungary.

They need to show that they are not afraid of Lewis.

Food for thought. Kimi has qualified badly, been knocked out in pit lane demolition derby and suffered a broken exhaust that cost him a win. And yet with his laid back style is only 5 points off the pace. He'll be back!
