BMW's number-one Robert Kubica and test driver Christian Klien believe the team's new car is one of the "ugliest Formula One cars".

The Hinwil-based outfit are running an interim car that is fitted with several 2009 specifications during testing in Barcelona.

"I never saw such a sexy car," Austrian Klien joked after testing. "It looks very, very new to everybody.

"To me, for the moment, it's the worst (looking) Formula One car I have ever seen. It just doesn't fit together.

"But we will get used to it. There will be a lot of modifications until the first race in March."

Kubica echoed Klien's comments, saying: "We all agree that the appearance of our cars are not the best."

However, there is one thing he likes about the "ugly" new car. "I can see a lot more in the rearview mirror."

Kubica, though, downplayed suggestions that the sweeping changes will make a major difference to the cars that will be used next season.

"Of course we lose a lot of downforce compared to the 2008 car," the Pole said.

"But because we are back from grooved to slick tyres, we have substantially more grip in slow corners.

"So with some more development I don't think there will be too big a difference between the 2009 and 2008 cars."
