Stewart started the A-Feature from fifth-place after locking himself into the event finale with an impressive second-place finish in Friday's preliminary race. He took the lead on lap 10 of the 50-lap feature and never looked back, despite several caution periods that bunched up the field. When the checkered flag dropped, Stewart and his No. 20 TSR/Chevrolet/Bass Pro Shops machine had a straightaway lead over Interstate Batteries driver J.J. Yeley - his NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series teammate at Joe Gibbs Racing - and a second Golden Driller trophy to go alongside the one he earned at the 2002 Chili Bowl.
"This win was probably a little less dramatic on the track than in 2002, but it was probably three times more dramatic off the track," said Stewart, as this year marked his first Chili Bowl win as both owner and driver. "To win in one of my own cars and to get our first win for Chevrolet - I can't think of a better coming out party for our new sponsor. To have the weekend we had for Chevrolet and to win the biggest midget race of the year, that's what I'm excited about."

The Tony Stewart Foundation is something I have wanted to do for quite a while. Over the years, I've donated funding to numerous non-profit organizations primarily supporting chronically ill children and individuals injured in motorsports activities. However, I've never focused on creating an ongoing charitable campaign that was sustained year-round. With the formation of the Tony Stewart Foundation, community efforts will continue to expand and our giving and fundraising programs will grow substantially.

A message from Tony: Since tonystewart.com launched five years ago, over 50,000 individuals have become daily active members of tonystewart.com. I'm pretty proud of the website that my mom, sister, aunt and myself worked to create. But as technology continues to advance and exciting opportunities become available, we thought it was an appropriate time to launch an extension of TonyStewart.com -- Smoke VIP.
Smoke VIP will give you a behind-the-scenes look of what life is like hanging out in the motorcoach and traveling around the country to participate in the many exciting events and appearances in which I am involved. You will travel on the airplane, the helicopter -- I'll even let you in on the various practical jokes I play with my friends and members of my organization. You're likely to meet just about everyone.
For Tony Stewart Racing's Paul McMahan, the time between where the 2006 racing season ended and the 2007 season will begin has been something of a blur. In the two months since the No. 20 Tony Stewart Racing/Bass Pro Shops team last competed in winged sprint car competition, McMahan has been passing the time behind the wheel of a sprinter in Australia. An 18-hour flight back to the United States on Monday will see McMahan rejoin the team in Tampa, Fla., where they'll compete in the 30th anniversary East Bay Raceway Park Winternationals. "I am really looking forward to heading back to the United States to get our season underway," said McMahan. "Racing in Australia is a lot of fun. You get to meet a lot of great people, but all of the exciting things we've seen develop with our team is really turning up the anticipation for 2007. I'll be very glad to get to Florida and rejoin Jimmy (Carr, crew chief) and the team. It's also great to have Bass Pro Shops back as a sponsor for this year. They're a great fit with our team and the race fans that attend short track racing events. We're looking forward to growing our relationship even more this season."
A new era of non-winged sprint car racing will begin next week in Tampa, Fla., as Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) is poised to make its first sprint car start of the 2007 season. TSR drivers Levi Jones and Tracy Hines will enter the 30th annual East Bay Raceway Park Winternationals carrying the colors and utilizing the horsepower of the team's new sponsor - Chevrolet.
While the "Bowtie Brigade" began the season with a victory in the 21st annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Okla., the team will debut the new Chevrolet/Donovan/AllPro by Kistler powerplants in three days of competition at the 1/3-mile dirt oval in Tampa. This year's three-day event for the O'Reilly Sprint Bandits Tour 'N Topless Series marks the second year that non-winged sprint cars will take part in the Winternationals tradition.
