News: A little-known 2012 interview with former NASCAR Sprint Series champion Keselowski resurfaced last week, shedding light on just how close the Michigan native came to being a Hendrick Motorsports Sprint Cup driver and how disappointed he was when that opportunity escaped him, reports. Impact: In 2010 Keselowski was waiting in the wings to race for Hendrick Motorsports in the No. 5 Chevrolet, but when Mark Martin was named to that ride Keselowski was bitterly dejected. At the time, Roger Penske had expressed interest in the talented driver but Keselowski had passed up the opportunity. With Martin's Phoenix victory in 2009 it became clear that Keselowski had no immediate opportunity with Hendrick. This nudged him in the direction of Penske Racing and the rest is history as they say. Keselowski hasn't forgotten these events and the fire and desire to win that has fueled him because of it.(RotoWire, )

News: Keselowski finished 17th in Saturday's Bojangles' Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. Impact: It was a tough race for the No. 2 Ford, which seemed to be a Top-10 car. Keselowski took four tires on the final pit, and got caught in traffic at the end of the race. The Penske driver led for four laps and collected 28 points as a result. He is now seventh in the Sprint Cup standings with 246 points overall.(RotoWire, )
