| News: McMurray, making his fifth start in the Sprint Showdown, brought the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Allstate Chevrolet home in third position at the end of the 40-lap preliminary event to the NASCAR Sprint All-Start race, earnhardtganassi.com reports. | Impact: McMurray came from the rear of the field in the 40-lap Showdown to barely miss making the cut for the All-Star Challenge. The No. 1 Chevrolet was very fast and McMurray had no problem needling up through the field. But he couldn't get catch up to A.J. Allmendinger for that valuable runner-up spot and ticket into the All-Star Challenge. McMurray should be pretty optimistic about his chances in this week's Coca-Cola 600 at CMS.(RotoWire, ) |
