News: On the July 4th weekend at Daytona International Speedway, NASCAR will launch its third annual "NASCAR: An American Salute" industry-wide initiative that honors our U.S military, veterans, and their families. Harvick will be driving the No. 4 Chevy in the ultimate patriotic makeover, Stewart Haas Racing PR reports. Impact: Harvick's Chevrolet will sport a star-dotted, red, white and blue scheme for July 4 weekend at Daytona. The patriotic scheme will really make the veteran driver stand out in a crowd. Harvick has been a consistent performer at Daytona International Speedway over the years, so this fantastic looking ride could easily pull into victory lane that evening in July.(RotoWire, )

News: Harvick passed Dale Earnhardt Jr. coming to the white flag in the second round of overtime to collect his second victory of the season at Darlington Raceway. With the win, Harvick halted a streak of consecutive winners in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition, catchfence.com reports. Impact: Prior to Saturday night's Darlington race, we had seven different winners in the Sprint Cup Series to start the 2014 season. Harvick's dominant performance makes him the first repeat winner of the season and stopped a recent spell of bad luck for the No. 4 SHR team. The veteran driver heads into the off-week with some new-found confidence and riding high anticipating the upcoming Richmond race. Harvick is a three-time winner at the Virginia short track and he will be a top contender to win that race.(RotoWire, )

News: Harvick won the Bojangles' Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway Saturday night. He is the first two-time winner of the 2014 season. Impact: Despite dominating the night at the Darlington oval, Harvick had to battle back on the green-white-checkered restart to pass Dale Earnhardt Jr. for the win. The driver of the No. 4 Chevrolet clearly had the best car on the track and he flexed those muscles late to secure the win. To underscore the victory, Harvick led 238 of the 374 laps. He climbed four spots to 22nd-place in the championship standings heading into the off-week.(RotoWire, )
