| News: Tony Gibson, crew chief for the No. 39 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team, has been placed on NASCAR probation until June 27 for his actions during the May 12 race at Darlington Raceway, NASCAR PR reports.

Impact: Newman scooted through unscathed on this incident, but his crew chief Gibson wasn't so lucky. He will be put on probation until June 27 as a result of the No. 39 team's confrontation of Kurt Busch's No. 51 team on pit road following last Saturday night's Bojangles' Southern 500. In addition, one of the No. 39 team crew members has been fined $5,000 and placed on probation until June 27 as well. | |
