News: Tony Gibson, crew chief for the No. 39 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team, has been placed on NASCAR probation until June 27 for his actions during the May 12 race at Darlington Raceway, NASCAR PR reports. Impact: Newman scooted through unscathed on this incident, but his crew chief Gibson wasn't so lucky. He will be put on probation until June 27 as a result of the No. 39 team's confrontation of Kurt Busch's No. 51 team on pit road following last Saturday night's Bojangles' Southern 500. In addition, one of the No. 39 team crew members has been fined $5,000 and placed on probation until June 27 as well.(RotoWire, )

News: NASCAR is reviewing the fracas between Kurt Busch and Newman after the Darlington race to see if penalties are warranted, the Associated Press reports. Impact: Busch did a burnout in a fit of rage late in the Bojangles' Southern 500 on Saturday night. While leaving his pit stall the burnout carried him dangerously through Newman's pit stall. After the race concluded both team's pit crews had to be separated, and Busch had to be isolated. The dust up was pretty contentious and saw a NASCAR official pushed over the hood of Busch's No. 51 Chevrolet. NASCAR is going to investigate the incident to see if any penalties are warranted. Newman should be in the clear on this one, but we're not so sure about the hot-tempered Busch.(RotoWire, )
