Lap 100: Kasey Kahne got a good restart after Tony Stewart spun the tires. Stewart stays second while Marcos Ambrose takes third and Denny Hamlin takes fourth from Juan Pablo Montoya.

GREEN FLAG - LAP 99! Kasey Kahne leads with 11 laps to go. Tony Stewart, Marcos Ambrose, Juan Pablo Montoya and Jimmie Johnson round out the top five.

CAUTION 6 - Lap 96: Debris all over the track. Over the last few seconds, Brandon Ash hit the wall hard and Greg Biffle hit the wall in separate incidents.

Lap 95: Marcos Ambrose to third pass Juan Pablo Montoya.

Lap 94: Marcos Ambrose to fourth.

Lap 93: It was tight on the restart, but Kasey Kahne leads.

GREEN FLAG - LAP 93! Kasey Kahne leads. Tony Stewart, Juan Pablo Montoya, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin round out the top five.

CAUTION 5 - Lap 90-92: Jimmie Johnson was side-by-side with Kurt Busch and spun him out in the esses. Busch was fourth at the time. The race continued for a little while, but Busch could not get out of the kitty litter leading to the caution, and dropping him all the way to 38th. Matt Kenseth got the lucky dog free pass.

Lap 89: Kasey Kahne has a 1.520 second lead on Tony Stewart.

Lap 88: Tony Stewart outmuscles Montoya to take over second.

Lap 87: Kasey Kahne got a great restart, but Juan Pablo Montoya moved up to second.

Lee Spencer says: Race leader Kasey Kahne's best finish at Sonoma is 23rd...his best finish on a road course is 14th twice at the Glen.

GREEN FLAG - LAP 87! Kasey Kahne leads. Tony Stewart, Kurt Busch, Juan Pablo Montoya and Jimmie Johnson round out the top five.

CAUTION 4 - Lap 82-86: Sam Hornish Jr. and David Gilliland spin in Turn 11. Boris Said and David Gilliland were racing into Turn 11 and Said clipped Hornish. Hornish spun and tried to start racing again and clipped Gilliland, damaging both cars. Kyle Busch is the lucky dog.

Lap 81: Tempers are rising and patience is thin right now, Ryan Newman and Paul Menard got spun around in separate incidents on this lap.

Lap 80: Tony Stewat, Kurt Busch, Juan Pablo Montoya and Jimmie Johnson pass Speed.

Lap 80: Kasey Kahne passed Speed shortly after the restart to take over the lead.

GREEN FLAG - LAP 79! Scott Speed stayed out and restarts as the leader, but Kasey Kahne right next to him is the first driver who has pitted and is good to go for the rest of the race.

CAUTION 3 - Lap 76-78: Marcos Ambrose spins Bobby Labonte in Turn 2 and Labonte stops on course. This is bad news for those who haven't pitted yet, including current race leader Robby Gordon. Gordon pits under caution, giving the lead to Kasey Kahne. Others who were burned by the caution include Martin Truex Jr., Scott Speed and John Andretti.

Lap 75: Race leader Tony Stewart pits, Robby Gordon assumes the lead. Marcos Ambrose pits as well. Oh no! Coming out of pit road, Ambrose spins Bobby Labonte in Turn 2

Lap 71: Second-place Kasey Kahne pits, Robby Gordon takes over the spot.

Lap 69: Juan Pablo Montoya, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon pit. Very long stops for Gordon and Earnhardt.

Lap 69: Boris Said gets penalized for being too fast exiting pit road. He will have to serve a drive through penalty.

Lap 67: Race leader Denny Hamlin and third place Kurt Busch pit, Tony Stewart takes over the lead with Kasey Kahne second..

Lap 66: Pit sequence begins.

Lap 65: Tony Stewart passes Kurt Busch for 2nd.

Lap 61: After all that crazyness, Kyle Busch pits. Busch uses very colorful language over the radio to express his displeasure to his crew.

Lap 60: WHOA! Sam Hornish Jr. spins after getting hit from behind by Kyle Busch. Busch spins out right after that, sending cars scrambling around both cars. Brian Vickers avoided Hornish but gets hit right when he was trying to pass the spun out Busch. Crazy sequence, but no caution.

Lap 60: Marcos Ambrose passes Kyle Busch for seventh - he is charging.

Lap 58: Polesitter Brian Vickers outbrakes former Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya to take over ninth. Dale Earnhardt Jr. tried to pass Montoya, but could not pull off the move and remains 11th.

Lap 56: Mark Martin picks up damage after colliding with Matt Kenseth and is forced to pit.

Lap 56: Brandon Ash gets spun out - just a victim of two- and three-wide racing.

GREEN FLAG - LAP 56! Denny Hamlin leads Kurt Busch and the rest of the field to the green. Top 19 drivers on the restart did not pit.

HALFWAY - Lap 55: Denny Hamlin leads.

Lap 54: Jeff Gordon was too fast entering pit road, will have to restart at the tail end of the longest line. Radio chatter after the penalty: Steve Letarte We'll use strategy, push and shove | Gordon: Talk to me about your strategy

CAUTION 2 - Lap 53-55: Debris in Turn 3. AJ Allmendinger gets the lucky dog free pass. Once again, a mixture of pit strategies during the caution - race leader Denny Hamlin stays out while others, including Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and Kevin Harvick, pit.

Lap 52: Race leader just got into AJ Allmendinger in Turn 11 to spin him around - no caution.

Lap 47: David Gilliland runs into the back of Martin Truex Jr. Why is that important? Truex's team leased Gilliland's team their race car after Gilliland got into an accident in practice yesterday.

Lap 45: Nearing halfway, teams are already telling their drivers to start conserving fuel -- guess they have learned from the last two weeks of racing.

Lap 43: Elliott Sadler ran off course in Turn 10. He is getting black flagged so the team can repair the rear of his car.

Lap 41: Marcos Ambrose pits from third, Matt Kenseth takes over his spot with rookie Joey Logano and David Ragan moving up to fourth and fifth respectively.

Lap 38: Bobby Labonte spins in Turn 11, but no caution flag shown.

Lap 37: Kurt Busch got past Denny Hamlin briefly to lead a lap, but Hamlin reclaims the lead shortly thereafter.

Lap 33: Kasey Kahne pits, giving the lead to Denny Hamlin. Kahne stalls it after his pit stop! He's back and running again, but that'll hurt.

Lap 32: Second-place Ryan Newman pits. Denny Hamlin passed Marcos Ambrose earlier in this lap and takes over second, followed by Kurt Busch, Ambrsoe and Matt Kenseth.

Lap 30: Jimmie Johnson will have to do a drive through after being penalized for speeding entering pit road.

Lap 28: Brian Vickers, Juan Pablo Montoya pit. There's an accident in Turn 11 involving Patrick Carpentier and Clint Bowyer, no caution though.

Lap 27: Kyle Busch pits, giving the lead to Tony Stewart. Busch has a four tire pit stop and stalls a bit coming out briefly.

Lap 26: Boris Said gets spun around in Turn 11! No caution. Denny Hamlin got into Said and spun him, allowing almost the full field to pass Said.

Lap 25: Tony Stewart moves up to second, Jimmie Johnson up to fourth, Juan Pablo Montoya up to sixth, Jamie McMurray up to eighth

GREEN FLAG - LAP 24! Kyle Busch chooses the inside line and leads the field to the green.

Lap 22: Kevin Harvick nabbed for being too fast exiting pit road - will restart at tail end of longest line.

CAUTION 1 - Lap 20-23: Jeff Burton spins in Turn 11 to bring out the first caution of the day. David Ragan made contact with him to send him around. Max Papis gets the lucky dog free pass. We'll get our first taste of double file "shootout style" restarts right here. A mixture of strategies play out during this caution - Kyle Busch stays out but others pit, including five-time event winner Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Bobby Labonte, Joey Logano and others.

Lap 20: Kyle Busch now has a 1.114 second lead on Brian Vickers. Kasey Kahne, Tony Stewart and Boris Said round out the top five.

Lap 19: Ryan Newman drops to sixth as Tony Stewart and Boris Said pass him.

Lap 16: New race leader - Kyle Busch.

Lap 15: Brian Vickers continues to lead, but Kyle Busch is all over the rear of his car. It doesn't look like Vickers will hang on for much longer against the defending race winner.

Lap 12: More bad luck for AJ Allmendinger - too fast entering pit road, pass through penalty.

Lap 12: Marcos Ambrose pits in an effort to get out of sequence with the leaders. FOXSports.com Senior Writer Lee Spencer spoke with Ambrose yesterday and he mentioned strategy would be key - so him pitting this early is part of the plan.

Lap 10: After the first 10 laps, Marcos Ambrose has moved from the back of the field to 25th.

Lap 9: AJ Allmendinger runs off course and suffers some front end damage. He flat spotted his tires earlier and could not turn, leading to him going off course through the gravel.

Lap 8: Jimmie Johnson passes Martin Truex Jr. for seventh. Tony Stewart (fifth) sets fastest lap again.

Lap 7: Fastest car on the track? It's not race leader Brian Vickers, it's Tony Stewart.

Lap 6: Elliott Sadler drops to 10th after getting passed by Jimmie Johnson and Juan Pablo Montoya. Up front, Brian Vickers continues to lead and has a 1.544-second lead on Kyle Busch.

Lap 5: Tony Stewart reclaims fifth from Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 3: Juan Pablo Montoya passes Jeff Gordon to break into the top 10. Further back, Marcos Ambrose has already worked his way up to 32nd after starting at the rear of the field for an engine change.

Lap 2: Martin Truex Jr. passes Tony Stewart to break into the top five.

Radio chatter after Lap 1 - Kyle Busch: Sorry guys that sucked.

Lap 1: Whew! All the drivers make it through the first lap of the race without incident. Vickers has a 1.061 second lead on second place Kyle Busch. Kasey Kahne up to third.

GREEN FLAG! Brian Vickers leads the field to the green flag.

The command has been given, engines are fired and we are ready to go racing.

Prerace festivities are underway ... we are just minutes away from racing at Infineon Raceway.

Three drivers will head to the rear of the field at the start of today's race: Marcos Ambrose (engine change), David Gilliland (switched to a backup car), and Scott Speed (driver change, taking over Joe Nemechek's ride).

Today's race is 110 laps in distance (219 miles, 350 kilometers).

With driver introductions taking place, here's a look at today's starting lineup.

The action gets underway at the 1.99-mile, 11 turn road course shortly after 5 p.m. ET.
