CAUTION 6 189 - Another big crash -- Jamie McMurray will win!

GREEN FLAG - Lap 188: Jamie McMurray leads.

Former race leader David Stremme runs out of fuel now. NASCAR calls off their planned restart. This will be a green-white-checkered finish.

Jeff Gordon is saying he's out of gas once the cars restarted. He's getting pushed to the pits. Montoya also runs out of fuel he says.

RED FLAG RESCINDED - 4:37 p.m. ET. Red flag lasted 12:34

Safety crews are able to cut the roof off and Newman hops out. He looks a litte dazed, but he's walking away to the ambulance for the mandatory trip to the infield care center.

RED FLAG - NASCAR stops the race shortly after the incident to help the safety crews.

Lap 183: Newman responds to crew over radio - he's OK.

CAUTION 5 - Lap 183: Big wreck! Ryan Newman flips out. He, teammate Tony Stewart and Marcos Ambrose made contact on the backstretch. Newman loses control, hits Kevin Harvick, and then starts flipping. Other car that got damage in this crash include Elliott Sadler.

Lap 181: Jamie McMurray takes the lead.

Lap 180: David Stremme got squirrely coming off Turn 4 but kept the lead.

Lap 175: David Stremme takes the lead thanks to Brad Keselowski's timely push.

Lap 170: Jamie McMurray leads a pack out of the Dale Earnhardt Jr. draft and takes him out of the lead.

Lap 168: Dale Earnhardt Jr. gets shoved to the lead.

Lap 166: After riding in the back all day, Jimmie Johnson is starting to move forward.

Lap 158: Jeff Gordon is P16, says "At least I can save fuel back here."

Lap 51: Several cars enter the pits, including Jeff Gordon who was running on fumes.

CAUTION 2 - Lap 49: Kurt Busch spins on the frontstretch through the infield grass to bring out the caution. He had a flat right-rear tire. Didn't hit the wall or anything, so he should be OK.

Lap 48: AJ Allmendinger spins as he was entering pit road. Gets it together and no caution is called. 'Dinger was slowing down and got contact from Bowyer.

Lap 46: Jeff Burton takes the lead. Sam Hornish Jr. heads to the garage.

Lap 45: Erik Darnell penalized for being too fast on pit road.

Lap 44: Race leader Dale Earnhardt Jr. among those that pit. Elliott Sadler takes the lead.

Lap 43: Martin Truex Jr. (too fast coming in) and Casey Mears (too fast coming out) penalized during the pit stops.

Lee Spencer says on Lap 26: The drivers just gave NASCAR what they wanted - single file, non aggressive racing. This is the closest thing to strike line that we've seen at Talladega in years.

Lap 25: There's two distinct packs on track - the lead pack and a secondary pack that appears to be riding around until later in the race. Championship leader Jimmie Johnson is in the second pack.

Lap 16: Will NASCAR start penalizing drivers for bumping in the corners as they promised during the drivers meeting? There's certainly been a few instances so far of it happening but no penalties so far.

GREEN FLAG - Lap 8: Kurt Busch leads the pack to the green flag.

Lap 6: Chase for the Sprint Cup contenders Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Brian Vickers, Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman pit during the caution. Other drivers that came into the pits include Jeff Burton, Michael Waltrip, Elliott Sadler, Kyle Busch, Reed Sorenson, Clint Bowyer, Matt Kenseth, David Ragan, Jamie McMurray, and Brad Keselowski.

CAUTION 1 - Lap 5: Paul Menard and Joe Nemechek wreck in Turn 2. Menard says he blew a tire.

Lap 3: Drivers are three- and four-wide throughout the pack, but no wrecks or close calls so far.

Lap 2: Kurt Busch is now up front. A few drivers have now started falling back - including Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart.

Lap 1: Mark Martin pulls to the front and leads the first lap. Jamie McMurray falls off pace and goes to the back.

GREEN FLAG! Championship leader Jimmie Johnson leads the field to the green. Today's race is scheduled to run 188 laps.

As a reminder, today's starting lineup was set by points after rain wiped out qualifying on Saturday.

Lee Spencer says: Kasey Kahne will start at the back of the field for tomorrow's Amp Energy 500. His team changed engines Friday after a cylinder failed

Who are the drivers to watch this afternoon? Lee Spencer lists her 10 (plus a wildcard) to keep an eye on.

ALERT: NASCAR has warned drivers in today's drivers meeting that they will be heavily policing bump drafting, even on the last lap. "The guy you might penalize might be in Victory Lane," Juan Pablo Montoya said during the meeting.
