CAUTION 6 - Lap 145: Wreck on the frontstretch between Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Juan Pablo Montoya. Montoya got loose coming off Turn 4, hits the wall, and then got run into by Dale Jr. - who had nowhere to go. Really tough break for Montoya - who led the most laps today.
Lap 145: Kevin Harvick passes for the lead at the line!
Lap 144: Montoya's car is junk in traffic - he's down to 10th.
Lap 143: Stewart spins his tires on the restart, drops a position to third. McMurray shoots out of a cannon and has a healthy lead up front.
RESTART - Lap 142: McMurray, Stewart, Harvick, Martin, Kurt Busch, Burton, Montoya, Biffle, Bowyer and Kyle Busch.
Radio chatter on Lap 140: Montoya, whose team opted for four, said, "We'll see in the next 30 minutes if we made the right call."

Lap 126: JPM's lead over teammate McMurray is 1.710 seconds.
Radio chatter on Lap 125: Montoya - "When you moved the trackbar, you made it even looser." Crew chief Pattie - "No changes there, no changes"
Lap 122: Biffle inches past Montoya briefly, but JPM gets a boost from teammate Jamie McMurray and now the two Earnhardt Ganassi Racing drivers are 1-2.
RESTART - Lap 121: Montoya leads. Biffle, McMurray, Bowyer and Kyle Busch are your top five.
Lap 118: Hood is up on Jimmie Johnson's car. Team has been battling issues all day long, so this was a welcome caution as they get a chance to make more fixes.
Lap 118: Leaders come in for service under caution. Remember, they cannot make it the whole way without stopping again.
Drivers cannot make it on fuel if they stop right now.
CAUTION 4 - Lap 116: Debris from David Reutimann's car in Turn 2.
Lap115: There are reports of debris in Turn 2.
Radio chatter on Lap 114: Biffle asks if there is damage on his right rear quarter panel, if that might have something to do with the way the car is driving
Lap 114: Montoya has trouble getting past the lap-down car of Ryan Newman, allowing Greg Biffle to cut his lead down to 0.417 seconds.
Lap 110: Carl Edwards passes Jeff Gordon for 13th.
Radio chatter on Lap 104: Greg Biffle's spotter - "You're better than (race leader Juan Pablo Montoya). Go pass him"
Lap 100: Edwards pits, and now Juan Pablo Montoya is your race leader.

Lap 65: Greg Biffle leads the field into the pits.
CAUTION 3 - Lap 64: Debris. This is a HUGE break for Montoya - he will be able to get back in sequence with everybody else.
Radio chatter on Lap 62: Jeff Gordon (13th) - "That's as fast as I can go." Crew chief Steve Letarte: "Those are really good times."
Lap 61: Montoya's lead is down to 1.021 seconds over Biffle.
Lap 56: Mark Martin says the grip is about the same as it was before. He admits that Greg Biffle "is real good"
Lap 53: With the pit cycle complete, Juan Pablo Montoya has a 3.7 second lead on Greg Biffle. Mark Martin, Clint Bowyer and Jamie McMurray is the rest of the top five.
Lap 51: A reminder, Juan Pablo Montoya is off-sequence with the rest of the field - he pitted about 12 laps before his scheduled stop because of a tire issue.
Lap 50: Tony Stewart was set to assume the lead, but he pits just before the start-finish line and now Juan Pablo Montoya is your leader.
Lap 49: Race leader Greg Biffle pits.
Lap 48: Race leader Mark Martin pits along with many others. Greg Biffle is on top now.
Lap 47: Green flag pit stops coming shortly for the leaders.
FOXSports.com asked Rick Hendrick for an update on the Mark Martin Kasey Kahne situation before the race. Hendrick replied: “We don’t have anything to announce yet. I just haven’t made any decisions yet. We’ve been close a couple of times, but nothing that we wanted to do. We’ve still got a lot, there’s still a lot of options and we’re just trying to wait to see what works out the best.”
Lap 44: Reed Sorenson back on track after his first lap incident.
Lap 39: JPM’s crew chief tells him that there was tire damage. But now the problems get worse for Montoya, who says “I think the motor is going to blow.”
Lap 38: Mark Martin is your new race leader. As JPM leaves pits, crew chief Brian Pattie reminds him “Don’t speed!”
Lap 38: Race leader Juan Pablo Montoya keeps telling team that the vibration is getting worse – now he is coming into the pits.
Radio chatter on Lap 31: Montoya – “It's vibrating so bad it's shaking the wall” – he still has a two second lead over second-place.
Lap 31: Mark Martin up to second.
Lap 28: Montoya says he's loose. Then radios, my right front tire's loose
Lap 27: After all his Lap 1 troubles, Kyle Busch is back up to 13th.
Lap 24: Oh by the way, former Cup champion Matt Kenseth is up to fourth (started 13th).
Elliott Sadler: "This is two years in a row where we haven't made a lap yet. Last year we had engine problems and oil leaks amd then there was the wreck today. The 18 spun out and we were trying to get checked up but there was nowhere to go. Somebody ran into the back of me and we all just kind of spun out"
Lap 21: It was a great battle at the restart, but Juan Pablo Montoya was able to make the pass and reclaim the lead from Jimmie Johnson.
GREEN FLAG - Lap 20: Jimmie Johnson is the leader. Montoya, Martin, McMurray and Truex are your top five.
Lee Spencer says on Lap 19: Doug Yates just told me the grass on the track from the first wreck is getting into the grills and causing all the overheating issues.
Lap 19: Brad Keselowski is the lucky dog free pass winner.
Lap 18: Denny Hamlin comes back into the pits for a second stop.
A very odd start to the Brickyard 400, let's see if things settle down now that everybody has pitted.
Radio chatter on Lap 16: Dale Jr. said on pitting early: "The 39 had a flat, he was up high in 3 and 4, someone got in the grass, busted up their splitter, and got all of us that were behind him"
Lap 16: Everybody is coming down pit road for service. NASCAR is counting this as the competition caution, so teams can refuel from now on. Jimmie Johnson takes the lead out of the pits!
CAUTION 2 - Lap 14: Robby Gordon made a green flag pit stop just a few seconds ago, and now his tire shreds on track to bring out the caution. And Max Papis' car is smoking! Fire coming out from underneath the car, he slows the car down and appears to be OK.
Lap 14: Dale Earnhardt Jr. comes into the pits now! He's battling overheating issues as well.
Lap 12: Brad Keselowski not in the pits - he was overheating as well.
Lap 11: Denny Hamlin comes to pit road as well - his car is running hot as well. So does AJ Allmendinger. And Ryan Newman - who had another tire issue (the fender was rubbing the tire). Whew! Lots of problems going on.
Lap 10: Carl Edwards is on pit road for an unscheduled pit stop - he was running hot.
Lap 9: Ryan Newman goes sideways! He keeps it together, but he is losing positions like crazy! A flat tire is the cause of his problems, but he makes it to the pits safely.
Lap 8: Stewart went three-wide and picked up a few positions (up to 11th now).
RESTART - Lap 7: Montoya is your leader. Johnson, Martin, McMurray and Newman are your top five.
Lap 4: Sam Hornish Jr. back on track, Sadler and Sorenson remain in the pits.
Lap 3: Joey Logano in the pits - team is under the hood checking the radiator.
Radio chatter on Lap 3: Kyle Busch tells crew chief Dave Rogers, "Don't put on too much bearbond. It just caused drag."
Lap 2: Reed Sorenson (83), Elliott Sadler (19) and Sam Hornish Jr. (77) go to the garage.
CAUTION 1 - Lap 1: Former Indianapolis 500 winner Sam Hornish Jr., David Reutimann and Kyle Busch all involved and have damage. Busch: "Left front fender is probably killed." Wreck started when Busch got sideways in Turn 2, tags Hornish and begins a multi-car melee. Other cars with damage involved include Reed Sorenson and Elliott Sadler.
GREEN FLAG! Juan Pablo Montoya leads the field to the green.

Lee Spencer says at 1:12 p.m. ET: How important will starting positions be today? Steve Letarte says no one will be able to pass today, "Did you see the Indy 500?" Letarte adds that pit stops will also be determining factor today.
1:08 p.m. ET: Indianapolis Motor Speedway chairperson of the board Mari Hulman George gives the command to fire engines.
1:03 p.m. ET: Prerace festivities are complete. We are minutes away from the command to start engines!
Lots of news already coming out of Gasoline Alley at Indianapolis. NASCAR announced at the drivers meeting that they will throw a competition caution on Lap 15 because of overnight rain showers.
