Danica Patrick was fast in testing at Daytona. And in practices at Daytona. And, it turned out, in qualifying too.

Joey Logano is also enjoying a strong opening series of days at Daytona International Speedway. The new Penske Racing driver led the opening practice and then was ninth fastest in qualifying, which gives him a good starting spot for his Budweiser Duel.

Brad Keselowski would love to start his Sprint Cup title defense with the win in the Daytona 500 (Feb. 24, Noon ET on FOX). He posted the 23rd-fastest time in qualifying, putting him mid-pack for the Budweiser Duel start.

Ryan Newman joined the Stewart-Haas Racing qualifying party. While teammate Danica Patrick took the pole position, Newman posted the fourth-fastest time, just ahead of teammate Tony Stewart. That will put Newman on the front row for his Duel.

Danica Patrick certainly enjoyed the opening day of Daytona 500 practice. And why not? She was fast all day, finishing third overall in the opening session and then leading the second session on Saturday.
