NASCAR heads to Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend, one of the most challenging and frustrating tracks on the schedule.

The Sprint Cup and Nationwide series drivers will try to negotiate the tight turns on the .533-mile concrete oval without enduring contact from a competitor.

As the drivers prepare for the fourth race of the season, here are the top storylines to watch over the weekend.

This is the place where one has to drive all-out to win. Often that leads to contact on the short track, a place where tight turns and high banks cause cars to beat and bang on one another relentlessly. By race’s end, someone has always ended up in the wall – and a few are generally all-too-willing to at least discuss their anger.

He’s been hot lately – will it continue? Edwards was second in the Daytona 500, had a fast car before he was caught up in a crash in Phoenix and won at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He also won the final two races of 2010, putting him on top of the field in three of the last five races. Can he add to that tally at Bristol?

It’s been a tough time on pit road in recent weeks for a lot of teams. With only six men over the wall and a new fuel can, teams have struggled to settle into a rhythm on pit stops. Fueling issues have cost some teams time on pit stops and some to run out of gas after not fueling all the way. Pit road is always tough at Bristol – how bad will it be this weekend?

Earnhardt Jr. and new crew chief Steve Letarte seem to have this team clicking once more. Earnhardt Jr. is 10th in the standings and heading to a track where he has 12 top-10 finishes, including a win. Can he return to Victory Lane this weekend?

Danica-mania takes a break after this weekend, at least for a while, on the NASCAR side. Danica Patrick is ending her initial four-race run in the Nationwide Series, a run that has shown improved results and has her sitting fourth in the standings. But she’s never seen the likes of Bristol in her brief stock-car career. Don’t worry about Danica, though, she’s proven she can bump and bang with the boys. And before you know it, she'll be back to run more of her limited Nationwide schedule.

A slate of drivers high in the standings have never won at Bristol. In fact, some – like AJ Allmendinger – openly admit that they just haven’t been able to figure out this track. Others have struggled in the opening races, like Clint Bowyer (pictured, right, with team owner Richard Childress) and are desperate to regain their footing. Will this be the weekend that stirs the standings once more? And a week from now will it be a more traditional crowd at the top?

He’s another top performer early this season. Stewart was upset to have finished second at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Sprint Cup Series’ last outing – and he openly showed that. Now, he’s had an off week in which to think about it and get even more geared up for Bristol. He enters the race as the points leader. Will he leave in that position?

A Sprint Cup driver has won every race this season. And not just in the Sprint Cup Series – in all three national touring series. They’ve won all the Nationwide and all the Truck series races as well. Will that change this weekend at Bristol? Will a Nationwide-only driver, such as Reed Sorenson (pictured)  take command in this race?

When looking at drivers on a tear, it's difficult to overlook Busch. He won the Camping World Truck and Nationwide series races at Phoenix International Raceway, his team won the Truck race at Darlington Raceway Saturday night and Busch’s lone track where he won three in a weekend is Bristol. Can he pull off that magic again?

In the Nationwide Series, it is shaping up to be a short field once more in the series. With the creation of the rule that requires a driver to pick a series in which to chase the title, there has been a lowering of the number of Cup drivers racing in the Nationwide ranks week to week – which has led to a lower number of total entries week to week. Kyle Busch, pictured leading the pack, is one of a handful still regularly appearing in the series.
